As stated before, is this page necessary? Microsoft has never been directly involved with the Super Mario franchise, They created the Windows and MS-DOS systems that some Super Mario edutainment games released on, which is incidental, since those also released on Mac, and hundreds of thousands of software was released on Windows due to its availability and not needing Microsoft's approval to have it released on there. Bill Gates isn't inherently synonymous with Microsoft, and that skit was mostly about Windows 95. Diddy Kong Racing is only a Super Mario game by the fact that Diddy Kong was licensed for inclusion, not because Banjo and Conker were ever Super Mario characters. The Microsoft buyout of Rare can just be mentioned on the Rare article and Donkey Kong franchise pages. Microsoft allowing Banjo and Kazooie in Super Smash Bros. is just something that could be described on the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate page or something, since the Super Mario franchise wasn't involved in that decision. It feels as if the page is trying to string together connections that either incidental or not there to begin with. The Rare Ltd. and Bill Gates sections are basically rehashes of what's on their respective pages.
If Microsoft owned Donkey Kong from the buyout, that would've given me more inclination that they can have their own page. But they only bought out Rare and their properties wholesale, none of which were ever part of the Super Mario franchise. Super Mario RPG (talk) 17:57, May 28, 2024 (EDT)
- This is just a collation of different existing Mario-related elements on the wiki just because they have the common thread of having something to do with Microsoft. The company itself is only remotely related to the Mario franchise. I support deleting the page.

- My vote is a hard pro-keep, as there was no previous page at all to cover MS-DOS (let alone Windows GUI versions for which Mario games were released) that wasn't just a redirect to Category:MS-DOS games, while the Rare info (which I worked for around a week to collect) is substantially more extensive than what the Rare Ltd. page itself has at the time of writing. While the Bill Gates section I admit is a stretch, I would only change vote if, and only if, a dedicated MS-DOS page is created in its place, while the currently strangely short Rare Ltd. page would had have to be almost doubled in vertical height.
