Tilt-a-Kart is the final unlockable battle course in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! It is unlocked when the Flower Cup is beaten in Mirror Mode. Its name is likely a reference to the Tilt-A-Whirl type of amusement park equipment.
The course is simply a large platform made of tiles that together form the sprite of Small Mario from Super Mario Bros. The white tiles bordering this sprite will reduce the speed of the kart significantly. During a battle, the course will tilt gently from side to side, hindering the battle. Item Boxes here are affected by gravity, and will fall down in the direction the course is tilting towards, similar to the Daisy Cruiser's dining room. This is the only battle course where the player can fall out; if they do, they are placed on a small white platform up above and must drive off it to land back onto the course.
In battle modes other than Shine Thief, a unique music track plays. It begins with a short motif from the Ground Theme from Super Mario Bros.; the rest of the song is a remastered version of Baby Park's theme, with an addition of crash cymbals played throughout the music track, the backing piano chords being swapped for an organ, and said chords being in a lower inversion.
The concept of a platform resembling this Mario sprite divided into tiles was later used in Toy Time Galaxy from Super Mario Galaxy and Mario Squared Galaxy from Super Mario Galaxy 2. The course's background also somewhat resembles that of the secret courses in The Secret of Ricco Tower and The Hotel Lobby's Secret from Super Mario Sunshine.
