“I fight for my friends.”
Ike, Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Template:SSB Infobox Ike is a character from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, the third Fire Emblem game released in the Western World. He is also a new playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. He wields Ragnell, his two-handed sword in one hand. Ike is the third Fire Emblem character in the Super Smash Bros. series after Marth and Roy. Ike is a very powerful fighter - one of the strongest, but he is also quite heavy and slow. Many of Ike's Special Moves are very similar to Marth and Roy's special moves from Super Smash Bros. Melee, but have a few changes to them.

Solid Snake Codec Conversation

  • Snake: This swordsman's gonna be tough to beat.
  • Colonel: Fighting Ike, eh, Snake? Ike is the leader of the Greil Mercenaries. He may look too refined to be a fighter... But he has one heck of a sword arm.
  • Snake: Yeah, he's swinging that two-handed sword around with only one hand. I don't even want to get near him.
  • Colonel: That's the holy blade of Ragnell. It's an extremely powerful sword. But don't forget, Snake, you're armed to the teeth yourself. To your opponents, you might just be their worst nightmare. The distance between you and your enemy is a crucial element in battle. Using that distance can give you an advantage against some enemies.
  • Snake: Yeah, I've got the same feeling...

Trophy Information in Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Ike

Type Image Description
Ike File:TrIke.jpg A member of Crimea's top fighting force, the Greil Mercenaries. He's a man of few words whose blunt manner gives the impression that he's uncaring, but he's actually a passionate hero. He was crucial to the reconstruction of Crimea. In Radiant Dawn, he continues to show his deep sense of honor and leads the Greil Mercenaries to the aid of the Laguz Alliance.
Great Aether File:TrGreat aether.jpg Ike's Final Smash--a powered-up version of his signature move, Aether. Ike faces a foe and swings his sword up for a hit, then tosses his sword into the air, performs multiple nasty strikes, and finally unleashes a mighty overhand blow to send his opponent plummeting down. It's a very impressive sight, but if Ike misses with the first upward swing, he can't use the move.

Trivia

  • The symbol that appears on the ground when Ike enters a battle indicates that he is using warp magic. Warp magic uses a compound known as "warp powder" to transport users from one place to another. The Black Knight (Ike's nemesis) was the only one seen using it in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance.
  • Ike is presumed to be the 'spiritual succsesor' of sorts to Roy. They both have fire element attacks, and being the more powerful (whilst sacrificing other attributes in the process) swordsmen in contrast to Marth, among many other things such as having a unique crowd cheer. When Roy retains a large percentage of damage or scores multiple KOs, the crowd cheers, "Roy's our Boy". When Ike does this, the crowd yells, "We like Ike".
