The conjectural name

Where does "God Slayer Bowser" even come from? I have heard various sources claim it's from some Japanese-exclusive release, but I can't find any traces of something even vaguely like that in those... ~Camwood777 (talk) 14:40, January 12, 2021 (EST)

I heard it was from a press release, and that the English name was a boring "Mega Fury Bowser" --Modderkin64 (talk) 16:59, January 12, 2021 (EST)
At the moment, neither name seems to be properly official. Mario jumping Nightwicked Bowser Bowser emblem from Mario Kart 8
Best I can tell, the name was invented by Matt McMuscles on Twitter. There is no such "press release" to be found online. Les (talk) 17:03, January 12, 2021 (EST)

completely black Bowser

I noticed that through hacking, you can reach Bowser before even triggering him in the beginning. if you reach him then, you will notice that he will then completely be black. even his hair and eyes will. I think that should be added in the trivia

Do you have a source for that? Mario jumping Nightwicked Bowser Bowser emblem from Mario Kart 8 12:09, March 17, 2021 (EDT)

yes, I watched it on youtube. I think the video was made by Prosafiagaming and it was called 'what happens when you skip Bowser Jr. in Bowsers Fury' I think.

You don't need to make a new section when adding a comment, and please sign your comments with ~~~~. Either way, Prosafiagaming is a bit questionable since that channel has quite a lot of mod videos on it, even for Bowser's Fury itself. yeah but there is also another video uploaded by ZXMany. the video is called 'Strange Tests With Bowser's Fury Hacking'. 80.57.88.144 02:54, March 19, 2021 (EDT)

Fury Bowser is black, but not completely Black Bowser, it even says not to confuse him with Fury Bowser, and the reason he was completely black is probably so the player doesn't see Fury Bowser in the beginning of the game before they make it to the ship-wreak, remember i said PROBABLY. - Bowser Plush Signature.png Bowser64 (Talk - Sandbox) 20:05, April 22, 2021 (EDT)

Wording

In one if the gallery images the text was: "A gigantic Small Mario avoiding some Fury Spikes" can we rephrase that? Bubbasour11 sprite.pngBubbasour1117

Yeah, that wording is used to communicate that the version of Small Mario in the image was from Giga Cat Mario taking damage twice, hence "gigantic". "Gigantic" and "small" are opposites, but removing "gigantic" would lose meaning in the image description. A Strollin' Stu in Super Mario Sunshine. 0blivion 09:29, July 27, 2021 (EDT)

The removal of "God Slayer Bowser" redirect?

On the day of 12 January 2021, a popular Twitter user off-handedly said that Fury Bowser's Japanese name is God Slayer Bowser. Twitter is not known for truth, because anybody can say whatever they want. In fact, this user only admitted the statement to be a joke two days later. The problem is, because of the user's clout and the fact that a press release might not be able to be verified, some news websites have been fooled into thinking that is true (Example).

The redirect exists after the admission that the information is incorrect, but its presence is justified in that the name is memorable so users might search for the fake name, in order to direct them to the right page. An attempt was made to mark the redirect for deletion, but it is justified in that users might still prefer the term, so the redirect stays.

Given that a significant amount of time has passed, when fads can get forgotten or at least still practised by an insignificant amount of people, I feel that the redirect of God Slayer Bowser is no longer necessary. Besides, the existence of this term is practically a kind of disinformation because it assumes that it is correct to call Fury Bowser that when the game did not even acknowledge the term, even if the one who made it up admitted to it being fake all along.

So, would the removal of this redirect be justified?

I still see the occasional Goombeetle using it seemingly-unironically, so... Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 16:48, December 4, 2022 (EST)
There was a section explaining that the name is fake on the rumors article, but it was removed in 2021. I would either reinstate that section and have the name redirect there, or remove the redirect altogether - having it redirect to Fury Bowser's page is worse than both of those, as it implies it's an official name as Winstein said.
