Would it be alright to expand this article to include more detail and the image gallery from the Nintendo 3DS article? The section itself needs to be rewritten, but the game features enough Mario content and heavily relies on the Mii as a feature. Plus, it would remove that... assortment... of images from the 3DS article. GBAToad (talk) 11:20, 30 April 2013 (EDT)

There's pretty much no reason to remove the images for StreetPass Mii Plaza, you could find higher quality images (and put in the other hats, which don't relate to Mario) but removing them is no reason to do so. --APA TKB Umbreon, from Pokémon. 11:28, 30 April 2013 (EDT)
That wasn't exactly the premise for the question, but I see what you mean (I kind of oversold that point in my statement). What I meant to ask involved determining whether Super Mario Wiki includes Mii as a character significant to the Mario series, and whether the Mario-related animated images and collectible hats are a large enough influence in the game to consider it a guest appearance as per MarioWiki:Coverage. The whole point of the application is to meet people, and by meeting people you get rewarded Nintendo-related prizes to show-off, which will encourage you to meet people to show them your Nintendo-related, pointless hat. The game serves no function other than collecting everything in the game. Most of these collectibles are Mario-related and the rest are from the other franchises that Nintendo owns. GBAToad (talk) 12:28, 30 April 2013 (EDT)
Ok, you could rewrite that. --APA TKB Umbreon, from Pokémon. 12:36, 30 April 2013 (EDT)
Done, though it isn't exactly rewritten. I've just expanded on the information already in the original sub-section. Any help would be great. GBAToad (talk) 06:27, 1 May 2013 (EDT)
I might add the enemies encountered in the game, but it might be hard to find images of them. --APA TKB Umbreon, from Pokémon. 11:55, 4 June 2013 (EDT)
I was on the fence about adding them myself, but it's great that you've begun doing it. If you are planning on uploading images, I'd suggest creating a table for the enemies, and adding details such as their Appearance, Name, HP and a brief description of their fighting ability to give the section some depth. If you'd like some extra assistance, I'd be more than happy to help :) GBAToad (talk) 18:00, 4 June 2013 (EDT)
To contradict my earlier statement, I think we might be content-creeping this page by adding the Magic and enemies list. While I was expanding the 'Magic' section, I wondered why the additional details were relevant to the Mario series in the first place. I'm a little unsure about removing them, so maybe a second opinion is needed. GBAToad (talk) 21:09, 20 June 2013 (EDT)

June 2013 update.[edit]

Nintendo has released version 6.0.0.0-IE2 of the 3DS' system software, and with it came an update to StreetPass Mii Plaza. New features include:

  • Another overhaul of the menu layout. It adds three new options (four for non-NTSC regions): Shop, Check for Updates and Exchange Booth (bear in mind I own the PAL version of the software, so these names may differ between regions). The Play menu has been completely redesigned. It resembles the outside of the plaza, with booths(?) for each of the games.
  • Nintendo has finally decided to cash in on StreetPass Mii Plaza by including a shop where users can purchase four new games: StreetPass Squad, StreetPass Garden, StreetPass Battle and StreetPass Mansion. The shop is run by a bunny, who provides additional information about the games with a tablet.
  • StreetPass Map is now available to non-NTSC versions.
  • Check for Updates is exactly what it says in the name.
  • Exchange Booth allows players to redeem tickets found in the new games for additional Nintendo-related accessories. Most importantly, for the relevance of this article, the outfits (previously hats) menu has been expanded to include more unlockable hats and outfits. The player recieves the Pixel Mario Hat upon opening the software a second time after the update is installed
  • Runs much smoother, and the touch screen shows a menu with all the games the player has purchased for quick access.
  • New puzzle swap panels, including Skyward Sword and 'Heroines'.

Anyway, that's all I can add for now, (I'm on my 3DS, so I can't insert the necessary information into the article yet). I guess all we really need to mention is that there are moar Mario hats. GBAToad (talk) 10:20, 18 June 2013 (EDT) @GBAToad what you said is already taken cared of. 96.63.12.93 12:14, 23 August 2013 (EDT)

thats allKyokencl (talk) 18:41, 12 July 2013 (EDT)

Alright, I'll try to add the information when I can. Thanks for the info. GBAToad (talk) 22:28, 12 July 2013 (EDT)

Eggplant Man hat?[edit]

The Japanese official Nintendo website includes a video that showcases all of the games, however skip to the Garden part and you can see a Mii wearing an eggplant hat that resembles an Eggplant Man. Here's the link. [1]. Should this be mentioned? GBAToad (talk) 17:50, 18 June 2013 (EDT)

Strike that, it's just an ordinary eggplant. :P GBAToad (talk) 18:44, 18 June 2013 (EDT)

Exchange Booth[edit]

What is this exchange booth, one of the options of the Main Menu??? What does it do???
Iggy Koopa Jr (talk) 14:02, 9 August 2013 (EDT)

It's on the Main Menu and you are able to redeem tickets for different hats/outfits. Agentdave7's Mii.Agentdave7 (talk) 13:19, 10 November 2013 (EST)

Content[edit]

Like I mentioned above (albeit ages ago), this page has a lot of content that is irrelevant to the Mario series. Unlike the puzzle games my current proposal is targeting, built-in titles are deserving of an article on the wiki (hence our Article on AR Games), but tbh we probably don't need to detail every single enemy, potion and spell that appears in StreetPass Quest. I'd rather not do a TPP and just delete the info, since our current coverage policy should be more than enough justification for the cutbacks, but does anyone else think so? GBAToad (talk) 06:22, 10 November 2013 (EST)

I agree and disagree. I agree the Paid Games section needs to be rewritten. I disagree with deleting some of the Find Mii information. What's with all the cut-backs? Personally I come to a wiki to get the most detailed and accurate information I can find. I understand that the information is not relevant to Mario however for know I think it should stay until the Wiki needs more free space when the Hard Drive/Server fills up. I own the four new games and I agree those sections need to be rewritten. I'm still progressing in Flower Town in hopes of finding some more Mario-related items. Would it be a good idea to upload a picture of the Mega Mushroom plant and the Bite Weed plant? Agentdave7's Mii.Agentdave7 (talk) 13:33, 10 November 2013 (EST)
We don't need a chock of details from Find Me especially when it has nothing to do with Mario. Same goes for the Paid Games section; it is not related to Mario either. The only things that should stay is the Mario-related things.

Ages later, but I just removed the section entirely and rewrote the relevant stuff. Feel free to dispute it here but honestly it needed to go. GBAToad (talk) 16:16, 3 July 2014 (EDT)

This article barely skirts the line of 'relevant'[edit]

If it were up to me, this would not be a page on the Mario wiki. This is not a Mario game. The subgames are not Mario games. There are Mario-related puzzles (hidden in a game within a game within a system), but there are also tons of puzzles for other IPs. There are Mario-related clothing, but so? There's Mario outfits in Bayonetta 2, there's a Mario-themed mode in some fighting game I forget the name of... There's a whole Yoshi-themed level in Sonic Lost World. These don't have articles because they're cameos. Mii Plaza has tons of cameos, maybe more than anything else, but they're still just a bunch of cameos. It's not a Mario game. Shadow2 (talk) 00:08, 31 January 2016 (EST)

We have articles for a bunch of nonMario games that have relevant guest appearances, namely Skylanders: SuperChargers, NBA Street V3, and SSX on Tour. Those aren't Mario games per se, but have perfectly valid reasons to be separate articles, as debated many times in the past. The point isn't whether the content is a Mario game or not, it's whether how extensive and notable said appearances are. As for this article, I think it could be trimmed down further, like trim the fat on the unMario-related Find Mii gameplay shenanigans and paid DLC, but I'm not sure if we should delete it entirely, as it does have substantial Mario-content, more than just a mere minor appearance, unlike those games you mentioned, and I can't think of a better place to leave the extensive puzzles and contents it offers. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C) 00:26, 31 January 2016 (EST)
Skylanders, NBA Street and SSX all have playable Mario characters so of course they deserve articles. There's no tangible existing Mario "creature" in this game. Shadow2 (talk) 18:28, 1 February 2016 (EST)

Include Accomplishments?[edit]

This article is missing accomplishments. Should they be included? --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 18:55, 20 March 2016 (EDT)

GameFAQs is down at the moment, but if the accomplishments aren't Mario-related, then it shouldn't be here. This article is already pretty flirting against our Wiki policy of coverage anyway. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C) 20:07, 20 March 2016 (EDT)
Since you think that, would it be better to merge StreetPass Mii Plaza with List of Mario references in video games for Mario-related content and Nintendo 3DS for everything else, since we cover the accessories and panels that are Mario-related? --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 20:31, 20 March 2016 (EDT)

Transfer StreetpPass Mii Plaza to NintendoWiki[edit]

We knew that this whole article is irrelevant in this wiki (as pointed the above two). Most of the info are mostly about the DLC games without any mention of Mario, like Monster Manor. Since the "Streetpass Mii Plaza" article doesn't exist yet in NintendoWiki, we can create and transfer most of the information such as the features of SMP, the SMP Premium, achievements, and Swift Play Plaza. The 13 games (2 games + 11 add-on games) could be created, as new articles. I can't even find enough information (and the article is also outdated) in the Wikia article.
As pointed out in the section above, we can leave out the Mario-related puzzles and hats in the "References in video games" article.

I think the idea of giving NintendoWiki this article is a good idea (unless they don't want it). I not 100% sure that removing the article all together is a good idea. I do agree that they are cameos, but this has the most cameos I have seen and they are related to each other by the subject in question. I think we should give it to NintendoWiki before we decide to get rid of it. But since I don't have an account of that Wiki, someone who does must do it. Red Yoshi in a construction hat walking Yoshi the SSM (talk) 10:28, 14 October 2016 (EDT)
I have an account on Nintendo Wiki. It definitely should have an article for this. Whether Mario wiki should or not, I don't know. If this article should be deleted or merged or whatever, someone should probably make a proposal about it. Do you two suggest copying the article verbatim, or using the information to write new text on Nintendo wiki? Either way, I think we need more input on this. --Luigi 64DD.png (talk · edits) 13:15, 14 October 2016 (EDT)

More Games![edit]

There are more games released for 2016, FYI. DarkBowserBIS.pngDarkBowser777(talk)Dreamy Bowser idle.png 09:29, 26 February 2017 (EST)

Ultimate Angler[edit]

Ultimate Angler should be covered in more detail, as it features Cheep-Cheeps and Bloopers.--John Pannozzi (talk) 17:45, April 21, 2022 (EDT)
