Tabuu is the final boss in the Subspace Emissary mode of Super Smash Bros. Brawl and he resembles a human, however appears more like a (blue) hologram, can grow wings, does not have facial hair or clothes and has a strange object inside of him. He was born in a very foreign area and is the ruler of the land of Subspace. Before the events of the game, he attacked the Super Smash Bros. World and killed many of the ancients there. The true ruler of the Smash World, the Ancient Minister, tried to stop him from destroying everything, but Tabuu was too powerful. The Ancient Minister and the remaining ministers, the R.O.B.s, became very sad of the loss of their friends. The Ancient Minister then decided that the world was no use and formed a Subspace Army to destroy the whole Smash World and send it to Subspace to Tabuu. He isn't seen until much later when Ganondorf bows down to Master Hand.

However, Master Hand is being controlled by Tabuu and Tabuu is using him as his "puppet". Ganondorf tries to free Master Hand and defeat Tabuu, but Tabuu turns Ganondorf into a trophy with a single attack. Ganondorf falls back on Master Hand and frees him from Tabuu's strings of electricity. Master Hand then tried to attack Tabuu however, Tabuu reflected his attack, and Master Hand flew back and hit the ground. Master Hand did not turn into a trophy and instead, died for good. The heroes arrive and they turn to see Tabuu who attacks them and defeats them all in one hit. Tabuu then uses the enrgy of all the lands sent to Subspace to create his own world known as The Great Maze. Luigi, King Dedede and Ness arrive at Subspace and return all the heroes back to life. The characters are forced to travel through Tabuu's maze and they finally reach him. Tabuu grows enormous colorful wings and is ready to attack the heroes again. Sonic the Hedgehog comes in and attacks Tabuu and breaks Tabuu's Wings. All the characters, now with Sonic the Hedgehog, face Tabuu in the Final Battle.

During the battle, Tabuu can teleport to one place to another and he can grow to a very enormous size and shoot lasers out of his eye. He can bring a gun, looking similar to the Dark Cannon into the fight and shoot a large laser at the player. Tabuu can transform into a strange type of a frame that can trap players in and then slam them into the ground. Tabuu also has the same electric strings he used with Master Hand and attach them to the player and swing the string around and then toss the player. He has a powerful attack, his winged form, that can immediatly knock out a player, no matter what the damage is. The player must be well out of the radius of attack, to not be KO'd. After Tabuu is defeated, Tabuu screams in pain and the Great Maze is returned to its normal state.

Tabuu

The ruler of Subspace and master of operations. Tabuu controls Master Hand with chains of light to excise this world and build up his great maze. He used Shadow Bugs to form Subspace and manipulates the servants of Master Hand to his heart's content. Born in a vastly foreign realm, he also possesses great leadership powers. Tabuu... No name is more suitable.

Winged Tabuu

Tabuu with wings extended. The dreadful energy surges cast from these wings instantly turn all fighters back into trophies. Knowing this, King Dedede assembles all able-bodied troops and sets a timed device on each of them. This device is a brooch that, after the designated time runs out, revives all fighters wiped out by Tabuu.
