King Dedede

Template:Newsubject Template:SSB Infobox King Dedede is the self-proclaimed king of Dream Land, a rival and frequent antagonist of Kirby. He was meant to be playable in the original Super Smash Bros., but was left due to time constraints. However, Dedede will be a new playable character in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl, acting as a large and heavy character, like Bowser and Donkey Kong. His Final Smash move is Waddle Dee Army. He has been confirmed to be using his Hammer, even holding the Hammer around with him for the entire match. He has also been seen riding around on a throne being moved by four Waddle Dees, which is his battle entrance. King Dedede will be able to multi-jump, like Kirby, Jigglypuff, Pit and Meta Knight.

Dedede's the self-proclaimed king of Dream Land. While he says he's king, Dedede performs no administrative functions and the citizens of Dream Land continue to live as they always have. He's able to suck in air and fly like Kirby does, but only as a result of the vigorous training he undertook after being bested by Kirby.

Trivia

• In the original Super Smash Bros., in the Dream Land stage, Dedede would fly in the background of the stage, this could also be seen when Dream Land returned as a classic stage for Super Smash Bros. Melee.
• King Dedede appeared in the Kirby Segment in the educational video, Mario Kirby Masterpiece
• King Dedede also appears in the Nintendo Monopoly.
• One of King Dedede's plots in the animated series Kirby: Right Back at Ya! (to be more exact, in the episode "Un-Reality TV") is remarkably similar to Bowser's plot in the Super Mario World episode "Rock TV".
