The 'Shroom Spotlight

Hello readers of The 'Shroom, and welcome to Spotlight. Spotlight is a community project which aims to fix up the articles on the wiki which have issues. These issues can range from poor writing to a lack of images, to even just needing a credible source.

Welcome to January's chilly edition of Spotlight. Although December is usually our designated chilly month, in which the focuses generally have a theme around fire and ice, as last month was the celebration of all things Donkey Kong, I decided to bump the snow theme over to this month. January is still a pretty cold month all things considered, unless you're in the Southern Hemisphere, in which case January is a time for things to heat up.

As with many of our theme months, the narrowing of focuses did reflect in the amount of focuses that were fixed. We've held steady the past few months with four or five, and sometimes even six focuses, managing to be completed, but this time we did fall to a 50/50 split. But on the plus side it did mean that half of the focuses were completed. Those that still need completing are Konga Coliseum, Spacedust Alley and Snaps. But a big thank you needs to go to Luigimaster123 (talk) for creating Letter (Mario vs. Donkey Kong), on Christmas Day no less, and to The Mansion (talk) for adding the necessary images to Poison Pond and for also improving the quality on File:DKCR Peaceful Pier Puzzle Piece 2.png. The Mansion also improved the image quality for other images on Peaceful Pier!

And now onto this month's focuses:

Article Category Focuses
Jolly Jigsaw Holiday Puzzle Online
Wanted article
Technically the holidays have passed, but it's never too late to start work on a jigsaw. Nor is it ever too late to start work on an article about a jigsaw.
Fire Mountain (court)
Stub article
Although this is an exclusive course to one mode, it does seem to be missing information. Rowdy Raft mentions how there's an even more difficult version of the court that can be unlocked, so surely this is the case here, in which case we'd need those details. Hopefully this isn't the case of someone thinking a small article automatically makes it a stub.
Piranha Plants on Ice
Rewrite and expansion required
We've featured many levels in this section, and this is another one. The article layout barely describes the level, just simply stating that some of the Piranha Plants present melt the surrounding ice. We're going to need a way more detailed layout than that, most of the writing there is more fit for an overview.
Big Penguin
Citation needed
This might be a difficult focus to track down as it hinges on the Japanese version of the game, but apparently in that version the Big Penguin makes a Koopa noise when you lose to him, can anyone prove this claim?
Flamethrower
Articles that need more images
Nothing like a good ol' flamethrower to warm up with, or maybe it's a normal fireplace. Anyway, what would be good for this article is to get all the different kinds of Flamethrower that appear in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS into a little gallery on the article.

Image quality requested
I wouldn't say this is the worst image on the wiki, not even by a longshot. The thing is, it could be just a little crisper, and could be less of an action shot with Penguin Mario, and feature him standing still.

Now just before I leave you, I'd like to tell you about unimplemented proposals. There are currently twelve, which is one less than last month, that need to be implemented, some of which date back to 2015, so think of this as a continuous Spotlight goal until they're all completed.

Thanks for tuning in to the newest edition of The 'Shroom Spotlight! Be sure to turn up next month, where we'll be reviewing the progress on the above focuses. If you have any questions or suggestions about this month's set of the article focuses, then please get in touch through the dedicated topic if you have a forum account. If not, then please contact myself on my wiki talk page, but you are far more likely to get a quick response if you go through the forums. You are also welcome to make suggestions on what you think we could focus on in our next edition, and as the next one is Halloween, we will be focusing on spooky focuses only! Thank you, and good luck!
