Happy April Readers! It's me Yeet the Jeek back with issue #145. I hope you all have had a great month so far with the jokes and laughs. I've seen how nasty the weather is getting let's hope you all have had been sticking through the weather and looking forward to some sunshine. It's been pretty stormy over here so far and I'm definitely looking forward to some sunshine. I'm hoping there have been little signs of Spring where you're at. A few days ago I got to see some purple flowers in my backyard so there's a definite hope that Spring is on its way. Congratulations on those who have had won LB's Super Smash Brother's Photo Competition. I know there were a lot of awesome photos that I saw from the competition you should all be proud of the amazing work you have all done. Staff Section of the Month for March 2019
STAFF-VOTED SECTION OF THE MONTH | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|
Place | Section | Writer | Reasoning | |
1st | Anton's Half-Baked Reviews | Hypnotoad (talk) | There isn't really much for us to deliberate that isn't already apparent by looking at this month's contributions. This section's look at various German foods, and his explanations and experiences a very well constructed. | |
2nd | It's aMAZEing | Lakituthequick (talk) | With the retirement of Reggie Fils-Aimé, the popular NOA president, It's a nice touch to make a maze based on one of Reggie's famous quote. That is by also mentioning the consistent quality of the section. Simple, fun and understandable. Everything to make a Fun Stuff classic. | |
3rd | 'Shroom Recap | Hooded Pitohui (talk) & Raregold (talk) | A very good write up of the career of Packy, and a nice recap of Word Search's history. Although it may seem long to read, Hooded Pitohui and Raregold have really managed to make everything interesting. A very nice section to take a look back at how The 'Shroom has grown over the years. | |
4th | Mach Speed Mayhem | Superchao (talk) | We appreciate seeing the addition of headings to help orient readers, add further visual appeal to the section, and to make explicit the consistent ordering of topics which had come together over the past few months. | |
5th | Meta Knight's Dream Land Journal | Meta Knight (talk) | We really like the way in which Meta Knight writes as he explores through the regions of the game as if he were really in a story. He also makes sure to give the reader the locations within his pictures of where the doors are located so the reader has a clear view of where it is. He has a great writing style that makes the reader interested in what will happen next through his journey. | |
6th | Rising Sun Reviews | Mariofan169 (talk) & Chibiki Daisy (talk) | Mariofan and Chibiki Daisy did an excellent job of retelling the anime of Black Butler without spoiling Season One’s plot. They both give a great introduction into way the series is about and the description of a few key characters. They did this series justice with their review. It was entertaining, informative, and flowed nicely. | |
7th | Hot Pot Reviews | Chibiki Daisy (talk) | The fun part of studying is that you learn better if you teach someone else the material, and Chibiki does that by introducing us to the play, Lucky Stuff. It's a foray into a field that's not really highlighted much outside of its niche audience, and we feel Chibiki sates us enough to get a good feel of what the thing even is if we don't go to see it, but without spoiling it or our appetite for it if we choose to do so. |
