• During the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Nintendo Direct on November 1, 2018, Piranha Plant was revealed as a playable fighter, alongside Ken Masters from the Street Fighter series and Incineroar from the Pokemon series.
• Luigi's Mansion (pictured) was re-released for the Nintendo 3DS on October 12, 2018 in North America, on October 19 in Europe, and on October 20 in Australia.
• Super Mario Party was released worldwide on October 5, 2018.
• During the Nintendo Direct on September 13, 2018, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe was announced, and will be released on January 11, 2019. Luigi's Mansion 3 was also announced, and will release in 2019. The upcoming Yoshi game for the Nintendo Switch was named Yoshi's Crafted World and will release in spring 2019. Additionally, Nintendo announced new information on Super Mario Party, the Luigi's Mansion remake for 3DS, and Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey; the latter will launch on January 11, 2019. Mario Tennis Aces will be updated on September 19, with a new online co-op mode and new characters. Isabelle was also revealed to be a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
