Super Paper Mario Bestiary
I noticed that the numbering system is a little off. Be sure to fix it. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 16:52, 12 November 2016 (EST)
- ? Numbering System? Not sure what you mean.

- Bald Cleft to Bill Blaster have wrong numbers. They should be one less than what they are now. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 20:09, 12 November 2016 (EST)
- Fixed. The bestiary's coming along great. I just added all enemies up to Francis, as well as some notes on Tippi's unavailability during Chapter 3.

- I see it now. At the Bill Blaster. I'll take care of it.

- I am not trying to sound mean here, but it was at the Bald Clef. It was labeled as number 12 when it should of been 11. I already fixed the numbering system. Brobot is now number 75 (I also found a duplicate of Fuzzy). Try to keep the chronological numbering system straight. It will lead to less work when going back through. Bloated File Sizes
Your uploads are ridiculous in file size in relation to dimensions and color depth! Use PNG Monstrous man! I shrunk them down to 2-3% of the file size of your uploads. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 04:46, 15 November 2016 (EST)
- Yikes! Sorry about that. I'm not sure what's going on there. My early files were just fine, but my latest ones are ginormous! I'm starting to consider staying away from images altogether. I can't seem to get it right.
- (--) 10:40, 15 November 2016 (EST)
- Feel free to ask Wildgoosespeeder or myself if you need help with image stuff.
- If you can use PNG Monstrous (for Windows), then you should be fine with your uploads as they will fix the file sizes to be as small as possible. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 15:10, 15 November 2016 (EST)
Congratulations!
Congratulations on finishing the SPM bestiary! You've done quite an impressive job.
(talk · edits) 16:48, 15 November 2016 (EST)
- Besides some minor changes (I forgot to click the minor change button), the article was very good. By the way, I made a comment on Talk:List of Catch Cards. I was wondering if you can answer it. Not here obviously, but on the talk page. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 17:20, 15 November 2016 (EST)
- Thanks! The really annoying part was the numbering system. I went through and cleaned those up before saving the page, but there were several times during creation that I screwed up on those. But I think I can safely say that SPM has a total of 196 different enemies.
- (--) 17:32, 15 November 2016 (EST)
- And if one would count the Sammer Guys with that number, it would be 396. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 17:52, 15 November 2016 (EST)
- Speaking of which, I didn't include Sammer Guy, Big Sammer Guy and Small Sammer Guy, as I thought it would be redundant and a bit weird since I can't include exact stats, just a range. Was I right?
- (--) 18:07, 15 November 2016 (EST)
- Yes. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 18:08, 15 November 2016 (EST)
- And if one would count the Sammer Guys with that number, it would be 396. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 17:52, 15 November 2016 (EST)
I just realized that you missed two Ninjoe-related enemies. (they are optional enemies that fight with Sammer Guys. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 18:10, 15 November 2016 (EST)
- No, they're there. Ninjohn and Ninjerry? They are after Super Dimentio, since they are not fought in the main story, only in the Duel of 100 after completion of the game.
- (--) 18:12, 15 November 2016 (EST)
- Sorry if I didn't see them until now. Yoshi the SSM (talk) 18:13, 15 November 2016 (EST)
Just realized that I forgot Dark Magiblot. So there's 197 different enemies. If you disregard the bosses, there's 170. If you count recurring bosses only once, 190. (--) 19:07, 15 November 2016 (EST)
Now that you are mostly finished the bestiary, are you gonna go back to making SMM levels?
(talk · edits) 19:10, 15 November 2016 (EST)
- Maybe. I've also got a few more SPM level articles to rewrite, I believe.

RE: Shadoo Sprites
To get there, that would take a first pass through Flipside Pit of 100 Trials and a first pass through twice in Flopside Pit of 100 Trials to battle him. That's a long time of playing. Here's what I suggest to shortcut it. We have sprites uploaded of the main playable characters. Just make the entire sprite black (#000000). Select all the transparency in GIMP or something, invert the selection, and use the pencil tool with a radius of whatever (200px I guess) and color it all in. That's Shadoo in all four forms. Judging by the article already, it's not necessary. We have sufficient imagery to show what Shadoo looks like. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 19:39, 15 November 2016 (EST)
- OK, but it's not that much work (I just finished Dark Mario) and I think that of we can get a non-Card sprite, easily, why not?

RE: Images without images
I don't know if it is possible to resize them. I researched it, but could find no way to do it. One thing you could do is:
- Save the image
- Resize it in an image editing program (like Paint)
- Upload the resized image to an image hosting site (like Imgur)
- Link to that
I think you'd need an account on the image hosting site to do that, though. Sorry I couldn't find a better way.

RE:The Adventures of Captain Toad
I actually have not beaten 3D World 100%, yet. Still working on that. Regardless, there aren't any Gold Stars in the Captain Toad levels, there are Green Stars like any other level, though collecting the Green Stars is a requirement in order to complete the levels. Yes, they are required for 100% and no, you don't need to complete them with every character as the game will only let you play as Captain Toad for those levels. I think I explained that well enough. 14:01, 20 November 2016 (EST)
- Just making sure. OK then, on to World 3. Thanks. (The Captain Toad levels being the only levels without Gold Stars is going to mess with my OCD.)
- (--) 15:09, 20 November 2016 (EST)
- You're welcome! ...I don't think there are any Gold Stars in Super Mario 3D World, actually. 15:14, 20 November 2016 (EST)
Well, now that I know exactly what Gold Star you are talking about, I can say yes, Captain Toad levels immediately receive a Gold Star on the top of the flag upon clearing the level. Sorry for the confusion. 18:32, 21 November 2016 (EST)
- But I have completed the level, almost all of them, every Green Star. But no Gold Star.

Re: Protection
Hello, sorry for the delay in responding. The only way to protect your talk archives so that no other user can edit it but you, would be to move it to the "User:" namespace, however that is not allowed. Sorry about that. I suggest to just add your archives to your watchlist, so you can be notified if there is the off situation where someone illegitimately edits your archives.

Re: Poll
From what I've heard, there was a Nintendo Power magazine that had a poll asking what part of Super Paper Mario did fans like the most and the story aspect was the lowest scoring point. So it lead me to believe that's why Sticker Star turned out the way it was; a lacking RPG with no story or character to it. That's pretty much what I meant. I could be wrong, but that's what I've heard around the internet. Shame too, Super Paper Mario's story is what I feel to be the best storyline in any Mario series game. Tails777 Talk to me!
- Not a problem. If you want my two cents on the topic, I think an RPG runs on plot and characters. Solid gameplay is another aspect that I heavily enjoy, which is why I love the first two Paper Mario games and hope for a true sequel to them. Super Paper Mario was accepted in my case because it still kept a grand majority of RPG elements, such as HP, attack power and defense power, the charming Paper Mario appearances for characters and enemies and, best of all, an amazing plot and characters. Sticker Star didn't have that and Color Splash tried to fool us into thinking it had that, but it didn't. Just my opinions though, nothing more or less. Tails777 Talk to me!
Now what?
I think my proposal just passed, but I don't know what happens to it now.-- 20:46, 29 November 2016 (EST)
- You came to the wrong place. The only proposal I've ever hosted was a TPP, so I have no idea what happens to it now. If you're wondering about what to do about the bestiaries because the proposal passed, that's up to you. You started the proposal and therefore get first crack at making the changes that came of it.
- P.S. I'm flattered that you came to me for help. That means I'm making progress. Thank you.

Super Paper Mario bestiary
- Alright! I was told you should be the one to upgrade the Super Paper Mario bestiary.
- Here's the template you'll need: template:SPMbestiary
- Everything should be self explanatory since it's almost no different from placing the enemy boxes. But, I do have a few pointers:
- Whatever you put next to
|name=
needs to be exactly what you replaceNAME
with. However, no two enemies on the page can have the sameNAME
.- Don't worry about setting up the link. By default,
|name=
is used to link the Enemy's name to it's article. If you get to an enemy that uses extra text likeO'Chunks (1)
, use|altname=
for the real link to the article.
- Don't worry about setting up the link. By default,
- Please don't alter the code of the template, unless you are changing the colors. In which case, please make sure the color best represents the game, only. Thank you!
- The stats at the bottom of the code that relate to the catch cards do not appear on the bestiary page, but they still need to be filled in. Those stats are visible after being transcluded to the enemybox.
- Place the image file link inside
{{{image|}}}
. This way allows the option to use a different picture in the enemy box, rather than using the one on the bestiary. - Oh, and for the
|role=
, this is the replacement method for using Bold, Italic, Bold and Italic, and Bold First Letter to indicate what kind of enemy it is.- Use these:
common, miniboss, boss, support, optional
- Use these:
- Finally, don't change
|align={{{align|right}}}
because this is the way to change the alignment of the enemybox.
- If you want to replace the enemybox on every page, replace them with this
{{:Super Paper Mario bestiary|transcludesection=NAME |align= }}
- Good luck!
- Sounds good. Thanks
- (--) 10:36, 30 November 2016 (EST)
- Just a heads up, I swapped the
|name=
and|altname=
variables, so now|name=
is the true link and will be displayed by default, and|altname=
is if the name displayed needs to be different. - -- 13:24, 30 November 2016 (EST)

Off Waves Recovered
Hey, hope you're not too upset at Off Waves being deleted earlier. I asked Henry Tucayo Clay (talk) to recover the latest information, so that has all been readded. Nothing has been lost :)
Additionally (and I didn't exactly help much in this regard as I completely blanked on it...), if you want to move the information from one page to another, you have to actually click the "Move" option at the top. If the target page currently has history on it, it won't allow the move, so you have to mark it up for deletion saying something like {{delete|Make way for move}}. Doing this preserves the pages' histories so there's no loss of information. I don't know if you knew that already and blanked out on it yourself like I did, but here's the information for next time. 13:32, 20 March 2017 (EDT)
- I'd be upset if the information couldn't be recovered, but I'm not too mad about the other part. I did not know the protocol for moving a page to a name that already exists, so thanks to you and Yoshi876 (talk) for fixing that up for me.

Redirects
Hello! According to the policy, a proper-capitalization redirect and all-lowercase redirect may exist for each topic, so Afoot in the Foothills, The Sands of Yold, and Monster of the Ruins are okay to have. --TheFlameChomp (talk) 20:09, 20 June 2017 (EDT)
- Oh, okay. Thanks for the heads up. So should I make the rest of them all-lowercase, or should I make a capitalized and lowercase one for each level?
- (--) 20:11, 20 June 2017 (EDT)
- You should probably make both, as when I asked Henry Tucayo Clay (talk) about it awhile age, he mentioned that just having a lowercase redirect would cause a red link if the proper name was linked to in an article.--TheFlameChomp (talk) 20:13, 20 June 2017 (EDT)
On the topic of redirects, please also keep in mind that, according to policy, lowercase redirects are not necessary if searching in all lowercase takes you to the page, either directly or through another redirect, without the lowercase redirect. So "afoot in the foothills" is fine because, without it, MediaWiki's search function won't recognise it as "Afoot in the Foothills". Redirects like "into outer space" are unneeded, since searching that will take me there anyway thanks to another one you created, "Into Outer Space". I would recommend searching first before creating a redirect. Thanks! Mario JC 02:12, 21 June 2017 (EDT)
- Oh, okay. For a lot of them, I used the Search bar, but the redirect still worked. But I thought I still needed a lowercase one (not sure what was going on in my head), so I went to an article, made a link, clicked show preview, and clicked the red link to make it. So no more of that.
