Accuracy	3.5	Nothing too bad in this article, just that the abbreviations need to be written out all the way, as they show a little laziness. Even if it is commonly referred to as SSBM, it doesn't mean it should be called that in random areas of the article.
Depth	2.5	Depth is mediocre, but for SSBM I sorta expected more. For example, this section tell the reader to look above for a better description. In an encyclopedia sense, that would not be acceptable as it could easily be explained again the aforementioned section. Even if sections like those exist, they should at least redirect to section their talking about. I understand we are an encyclopedia, not a FAQ, but important info like how to unlock various things are not present! Melee mode could be very thoroughly explained, like what Friendly Fire is, how many CPU/Handicap Levels there are etc.. Also explain a bit about selective random (an unlocked feature which lets the player turn off stages from appearing when using the random select). Types of Melee like Team and Free-for-All could be explained. I will not list all the problems right now, but after the other problems on this article are solved, I will explain more in-depth about other things.
Grammar	3.0	Though the grammar is very understandable, you'll find quite a few spelling mistakes if you look at it hard enough. The article also skips too many lines, like after 2 sentences, the paragraph ends and another 2 sentence paragraph appears. On average paragraphs should be 4-6 sentences, no more, no less.
Images	3.5	The only complaint I have with the images are that they are too small and don't really help illustrate the point. One a minor note, one of them has the Detstar tag on them which makes the image look a bit awkward.
Formatting	3.5	Perhaps one more table for items could be added.
Final Rating:	16	Don't get me wrong, the article has some VERY good points as well, but it needs to be worked on a little more before it can be nominated.

Unlocking

For Luigi, play 800 Versus Matches. (There's another method, but it's complicated and I don't have time to explain it now.) For Dr. Mario, just beat Classic mode with Mario.Waluigi Freak 99 17:20, 28 January 2007 (EST)

Luigi is also unlockable by doing adventure mode and finishing the stage with a two in the seconds column (03:12:43). Luigi will then join the melee and kicks Mario away so he can fight you with Peach. Kill them both and Luigi's yours. But, next time, don't use the talk page for things like that on this wiki. food

Food is from the Kirby series! Max2 (talk) in the Kirby games Kirby could eat various foods to increase his health. IF it says SSBM we should mention Kirby.

The trophy doesn't make any mention of the Kirby series. Besides, I believe there's at least one Pokémon food in the game, so I doubt all of it came from the Kirby series. --KPH2293 19:00, 6 March 2007 (EST)

I'm just saying, some of the food (cherries, soda/syrup lookin thing) are all Kirby while others (that white and black triangle-thing) is actually Pokemon (I think, maybe the TV show...) anyway, so not all of the food is Smash Original. and, they messed up before. Shortening

The MediaWiki software has noted that the article is too long, which may cause editing problems with some browsers. It suggests splitting the article into several sections. It would be possible splitting the level information for the adventure mode and event matches to special pages. I also propose the Marioverse Character Moves to be removed. The characters' moves can be easily seen on their corresponding pages. - Cobold

The special moves have been moved to the characters' pages. However, the article is still tagged as too long. What parts of it should be moved to special pages? (see also Special Paper Mario Pages) Event matches? - Cobold

There is no need to do anything to page. It happens to all long pages, like the Mario page. To prevent this problem, people with bad browsers should consider editing section by section.Knife (talk) 16:49, 29 July 2007 (EDT)

Descriptions of Characters, Items and Stages

Currently, only the Marioverse items have a short description on this page. Shouldn't there be some kind of short description for all items, and for characters and stages, too?
