Talk:Paper Luigi

"Luigi himself was previously depicted in "paper" form in the Paper Mario series games, but the two characters are not the same. " Should this distinction be made? I say yes. Discuss.-- 15:23, 27 November 2016 (EST)
- I mean, Paper Peach doesn't have that sentence that already repeats what the Articleabout on the top already states, so I find it very redundant and not needed. Ray Trace(T|C) 15:25, 27 November 2016 (EST)
- I still think that's a bold statement to take. The proposal had separated this Luigi out mostly for the sake of wiki organization alone. I don't think it's making a statement on this character's identity beyond that. I mean, this Paper Luigi could be the same Luigi you see in the previous Paper Mario games; there isn't any evidence to the contrary no matter how many inferences you make (e.g. they're from a storybook). Instead, we separate this article within the scope of Paper Jam because otherwise, it would be a pretty messy situation. Anyhow, readers can get their own inferences from the article's state and the articleabout template, so either way, there's no need for that line, even if we aren't trying to fill in the lines ourselves. - The Articleabout isn't part of the article though. Furthermore, it doesn't say a thing about how Paper Luigi is not the same as Luigi from the Paper Mario series.
- "This article is about the character in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam. For information about Luigi as depicted in Paper form in the Paper Mario series, see Luigi."
- Sure, one can put two and two together, but it still must be outright stated that they are not the same character.-- 15:34, 27 November 2016 (EST)
- As I said, there is little evidence that they are not the same character. We separate them out within the scope of Paper Jam mostly because of organizational reasons. I think this whole "this guy isn't Paper Luigi from the Paper Mario games" is our own filling between the lines rather than something officially stated. It's me, Mario!
