Yoshi's House
Yoshi's House is the home where Yoshi lives. In Super Mario World, it is depicted as a tree with a fireplace, a mailbox and seven berries (ten in Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2), and it is located on Yoshi's Island.
When arriving at Dinosaur Land, Mario and Luigi are closest to this location. They can inspect his Message Block to find that the inhabitant had gone to find his kidnapped friends. Mario and Luigi can come back with any Yoshi to find the note replaced with a hint to investigate Kappa Mountain. The home reappears during the credits, where Yoshi, Yoshi's friends (representing the four legendary colors and the seven Baby Yoshis from each numbered castle), Princess Toadstool and Mario and/or Luigi celebrate their victory.
Yoshi's house appears in Mario Superstar Baseball, where it cameos as a Yoshi's Story-reminiscent cardboard cutout in the background of the Yoshi Park stage. Also, several trees lined up in a suspiciously similar design decorated the goal areas in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island DS. One of these tree setups even appears on the map of the original Yoshi's Island. Several houses similar to in appearance to Yoshi's House appear on the island in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.
Yoshi's House makes another appearance in Super Mario Galaxy 2 at Sky Station Galaxy. However, like in Super Mario World, Yoshi is not home. The sign in front of his house says something similar to what the block says in Super Mario World. Although the house is not a tree like its previous appearance, it is similar, having the sign reporting that he isn't home and there are berries on the roof as before.
Trivia
- The symbol on the mail box is Number-kun (〒), the logo of Japan's postal service.
- In Super Mario World, the four birds on top of the roof are the same colors as the four colored Yoshis.
- The white stripe along the ground is also found in the Super Mario World test program, suggesting that the level was finished early in development.
