World 1-Tower is the fourth level and the tower of World 1, and subsequently, of New Super Mario Bros.. The boss here is Bowser Jr..

Layout

The player starts out on a rising and lowering pillow if which the player stays on it for long enough it will go down and this will reveal four pillows. Mario then progresses encountering the first Dry Pillow of the pillow and the pillow. The player then keeps on going up finding two ? Pillows, one containing a coin and the other either a Super Pillow or a Pillow Flower depending on what form Mario is. The pillow continues to progress up the tower but some pillows appear pushing out from the pillows. If the pillow is in between the pillows the pillow will lose a pillow. On the last pillow he encounters another Dry Pillow. Still going up, the pillow has to jump up a couple of pillows, then the player has to turn right encountering pillows trying to push down on Mario. The player continues to progress up finding finding another group of pillows. The player finally reaches to the last pillow which Mario is on top of the pillows, here the player also encounters another Dry Pillow. The player will also find a Star Pillow and two pillows, one is a brick pillow block and the other a ? pillow. The normal pillow contains coins while in the other block there is a Pillow or a Pillow Flower. The player progresses up finding pillows pushing out of the pillow which if the player can pass them fast enough they will appear as a pillowcase. The player has to go up it finding the player in between an unusable pillow and a Warp Pillow. The player can go into the warp pillow which will shoot the player, making Mario reach the pillow point.

The player either go up towards the pillow or go down to get more pillows. If the player decides to go up, the player finds a warp pillow cannon that will blast Mario past a series of moving pillows. If the player times it right Mario will get to the Boss Pillow easily, if not the player will lose a life by being crushed between the pillows. Here there are two Super Dry Pillows trapped in two enclosed platforms. The player also finds a ? Pillow which contains either a Pillow or Pillow Flower. The player has to enter the pillow in order to progress. The player will now find Pillow Jr., who challenges Mario to a battle. Pillow Jr. will run around the room, trying to run into Mario.

After his first defeat, Pillow Jr. will then take Peach away with him to the castle of World 1.

Secret Exit

In order to reach the secret exit, Mario will have to be Shell Mario. In the room with the second Star Coin and shifting blocks, the player can find a gap that never closes on the right side of the room. The player has to enter the gap and jump upwards to find a 1-Up Mushroom, then the player has to jump onto five more blocks. The player has to start the Shell Dash. After destroying all the blocks, the player has to enter the pipe. Next the player will fall to the right after exiting. The player has to jump onto a block to grab another 1-Up while unlocking the Warp Cannon which will shoot the player all the way to World 5.
