The Final Countdown

Template:Minigame-infobox The Final Countdown is a battle minigame in Mario Party 7. Its name comes from "The Final Countdown", a song by the 1980's hard rock group Europe.

Gameplay

The playing field is a platform with nine panels. There is a number on each of the panels (1-9), and decreases by one each passing second. If the number on a panel ever falls to zero, the panel gives way, eliminating any player on it from the game. (Thus, the players must jump to panels with a higher number on them to prevent elimination.) Competitors are allowed to punch and kick the opposition to try and force them either off the platform entirely or into a hole. Additionally, the rate at which the countdown occurs speeds up the longer the game goes on. The last player standing on the number panels wins the minigame. If all players fall simultaneously, a random winner is decided.
