SMG fire-balls
I left another response on that conversation on my talk page, by the way, I wanted to get an opinion on that matter before making any further moves on it. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 20:17, February 6, 2025 (EST)
Moving torch
On the moving torch image, why is the middle of the flame completely transparent? It doesn't seem to look that way in-game. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 13:14, February 8, 2025 (EST)
- It's just how the static texture looks when applied to the model. - Nintendo101 (talk) 13:49, February 8, 2025 (EST)
SMB3 sprites
My idea with the SMB3 static animated BG tiles is to put them consistently on what is considered the "first" frame internally, both for consistency on our end and because for most of them, that corresponds with how they look when a switch is hit and everything stops animating. Now I still have a jillion more assets prepped to upload, I had to stop because I had a headache. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 22:08, February 17, 2025 (EST)
- You have been doing good work. My incentive in these articles is to provide a sincere and nice display for users, and whether or not each sprite represents the first frame in an animation is not particularly important to me. My intent is for the reader to understand what it looks like when they read the accompanying text. I will prioritize what I think looks nice as long as it remains an accurate display of what occurs during gameplay, which is why I have things like the Fire Bro spitting a fireball in the table rather than a static image of it still. It is visually a little more dynamic, and it more immediately communicates how it differs from normal Hammer Bros and related enemies. For Jelectro, I just prefer how its tentacles are positioned in the frame. - Nintendo101 (talk) 22:20, February 17, 2025 (EST)
Making your own sandbox
I was thinking about making my own sandbox. How is it done? ZanyDragon (talk) 23:13, February 17, 2025 (EST)
- Howdy! Sandboxes are extensions of your userpage. To make it the same way you would create a new article, by writing out its name first and then clicking on it to start making it. For sandboxes, you would write out its name as "your user name/your sandbox's name." For example, one of my sandboxes is User:Nintendo101/flowerpot. For you, you would write it out as User:ZanyDragon/sandbox. I hope that was straight forward. Let me know if any of that was unclear. - Nintendo101 (talk) 23:29, February 17, 2025 (EST)
- Thank you so much.

SMB3 map icons
The plan I have is to have the prior inaccurate tile uploads remain as "world" and "world-link" template images because those work better with solid outlines and no ground color. For the actual galleries and such I'll upload more internally accurate ones. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 20:29, February 18, 2025 (EST)
- I understand, but the one you replaced was the one used in world and world-link. - Nintendo101 (talk) 21:39, February 18, 2025 (EST)
- It's not replaced. It's palette-corrected. The "replaced" one will be missing the black, not the brown. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 21:59, February 18, 2025 (EST)
- Yes, I misspoke because I have not been getting much sleep. I did not notice it was the brown that was transparent until after the fact. But regardless, the one used in world and world-link should probably not have any transparent textures. - Nintendo101 (talk) 22:05, February 18, 2025 (EST)
- In that case, the brown surrounding it should also be filled in so as to not break limitations. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:19, February 18, 2025 (EST)
- No, because that is supposed to be the surrounding landscape in the Dark World. The pixels within the outline of the castle are supposed to be the castle's exterior.
- I don't take issue with this on my own accord - other members of the community took issue with it because we all use the world and world-link template. If you want to upload something more earnest to how the asset is used, please do it as a separate file. - Nintendo101 (talk) 09:50, February 19, 2025 (EST)
I already did yesterday. The small one works better for the template since it doesn't need shrunk so badly. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 10:19, February 19, 2025 (EST)
- Yeah, I caught that after the fact. Sorry. I am still a bit frazzled. - Nintendo101 (talk) 10:23, February 19, 2025 (EST)
- Also, to clarify, I supported that palette proposal. If there is a discrepancy with a reversal on an image, it is because I just overlooked it the difference in shade. Again, sorry. - Nintendo101 (talk) 10:26, February 19, 2025 (EST)

SMB3 Luigi
Fair warning, when I reupload the SMB3 Luigi sprites, I'm probably going to have them face the same way as Mario's for better gallery consistency. I noticed how the SMB3 page's table has them facing the opposite direction as each other, so I figured I'd put the code down here to flip images horizontally in pages on command. <span style="display:inline-block; transform:scaleX(-1)>[[File:]]</span> Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 01:08, February 20, 2025 (EST)
- Go ahead. I did that to passively invoke the title screen, but it's not a big deal. - Nintendo101 (talk) 01:31, February 20, 2025 (EST)
