Talk:Merlon
According to... the weird guy in the bar whos name I cant remeber, The merlon from PM and the one from PMTTYD are 2 different people. Should we make 2 articles? - User: Ultimatetoad
Can you provide the text, or am I gonna have to go and find it?
- Yoshi Master
- Only one article is needed. See the Merlee article: "This Merlee may, in fact, be a different Merlee than the one in Paper Mario. This is because Wonky states there is a fortune-telling clan that names its members after their role in the clan. Perhaps the name "Merlee" indicates a certain role or ability one performs in the fortune-telling clan." The same applies to Merlon. They may be different characters, but Wonky does not state so for sure. -- Son of Suns
there should be two different articles i own both games and the people are completely different. i would do it but there are so many links for Merlon when they are really Merlin
Two things: One, the quote is extremely, unnecessarily long, so an alternative quote would be nice. Second, since the characters with the prefix "Mer" must no doubt have some sort of relation (perhaps they're from a line of mages), a template would be nice. Hello, I'm Time Turner.
- A template isn't necessary and would be waste. A category would do just fine. -

- Template:Mario's Clothing. This one's a lot more wasteful. Hello, I'm Time Turner.
It's possible that the Merlon in PMTTYD is the same Merlon from the 1st Paper Mario. But the Merlon in SPM is all "blocky & jaged", so the one in SPM could be a different Merlon. BoygeyPumpkineer
- So is everything in that game, so I really wouldn't pay attention to the design, and more to the character. We don't say Mario is a different Mario because one is 8-bit. Toad and his brigade! 19:45, 18 May 2015 (EDT)

Merlon's remake artwork appears to mistakenly depict him with three feet for some reason. Is it still usable as an infobox image? Blinker (talk) 13:22, May 30, 2024 (EDT)
- Yeah that bothers me a lot as well. Looking at how the characters' models look in their initial T-pose, Merlon looks exactly like that in that state (hand pose and position as well) which suggests whoever made his render just loaded up his model and hit render without paying much thought to if any unnecessary parts were visible. Personally that doesn't seem like infobox material since it's a pretty glaring error in my opinion. I think either using a sprite/rendered model from the remake without the extra foot, or keeping the SPM render is the way to go. It wouldn't be the most recent official artwork, but considering this "official artwork" is just a render of the in-game model anyway and it has such a glaring mistake, I think that's warranted but again that's just me personally. -- 23:04, June 15, 2024 (EDT)
