Shy Guy Says
Template:Minigame-infobox Shy Guy Says is a 4-Player minigame in Mario Party, Mario Party 2, Mario Party: The Top 100 and Mario Party Superstars. In Mario Party and Mario Party: The Top 100, a Pirate Guy appears on a boat, and the players are in barrels connected by rope to the boat; in Mario Party 2, a Shy Guy stands on a rainbow with a bow and a quiver, with the players being attached to balloons. In the Mario Party: The Top 100 version of the game, the Pirate Guy has its Mario Party 8 appearance. The minigame's name is a reference to the game Simon Says.
Gameplay
Players have to raise the same color flag as the Pirate Guy or Shy Guy. The Pirate Guy or Shy Guy's flags show the button used to raise that flag: (or ) for white and (or ) for red. Players can choose between raising a red or white flag. If one of the players raises the wrong color flag or does not raise any flag, the Pirate Guy or Shy Guy eliminates the player from the minigame by using a sword to cut their rope in Mario Party and Mario Party: The Top 100 or by popping their balloon by using a bow in Mario Party 2. In Mario Party and Mario Party 2, the Pirate Guy or Shy Guy will sometimes raise two flags at once, then put one of the flags away early, while in Mario Party: The Top 100, the Pirate Guy will sometimes take out a flag and immediately put it away. When raising two flags at once, the Pirate Guy or Shy Guy can also raise a flag after lowering it and lower the other one. The last player attached to the ship or their balloon wins the minigame.
In Mario Party 2, a bypassing Lakitu appears, serving as a timestamp for the game. If the player does not raise a flag before the Lakitu has gone offscreen, the Shy Guy will pop their balloon.

Trivia
- Shroids from Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time use an attack similar to this minigame.
- An alternate texture for the Shy Guy pirate is present in the game's files but went unused.[2]
- The minigame makes an appearance in a 4koma Mario Party four-panel gag manga where Mario eliminates the hosts the same way hosts try to eliminate the players.
- In Mario Party 2, Luigi's flags have a rendering issue that causes them to look as if they are not fully attached to the poles, an issue also present in Yoshi's red flag. Luigi's left wrist is also seen constantly twisting.
