Talk:PictoChat
Name in Brawl
Does it matter what order the characters come in or where they come in that determines the name on the stage? Why Bother (talk)
- No, I think it's random. Mario4Ever (talk)
Brawl Stage
Shouldn't the PictoChat stage have a separate page as well as being mentioned here? I mean, PictoChat 2 has its own page, so I see no considerable reason why the SSBB stage shouldn't have a page too. TheDisneyGamer 12:01, 22 April 2017 (EDT)

Does PictoChat itself really warrant an article? It seems to me that this should just be trimmed down to the Smash stage. -- Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 12:35, November 30, 2020 (EST)
- I think Pictochat coverage could just be add on the Nintendo DS article itself, while keeping only the information about Smash. Pictochat isn't something that is Mario-related in any form, so I really don't think having an article regarding Pictochat as a whole is necessary. So yeah, I agree to trim it down only for the Smash coverage--(TALK)
- The Pictochat app itself has nothing to do with the franchise, and thus doesn't fit into our coverage. Thus, this page should only have info about the stage, not about the actual app. Doomhiker (talk) 12:42, November 30, 2020 (EST)
- We don't have articles for other system services like this, so I guess not. Nightwicked Bowser
- Partially: What I would like to do is split the service and the Super Smash Bros. Brawl stage into two articles so it could deliver an easier topic for the two pages. I don't really want to delete the PictoChat service because of the trivia reference about Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Yoshi. Any ideas? Benjaminkirsc (talk) 13:40, November 30, 2020 (EST)
- A single piece of trivia for a reference that doesn't even appear in the app normally doesn't make it worthy of keeping an article. It could easily be moved to the Nintendo DS article or possibly List of Mario references in Nintendo video games. -- Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 14:00, November 30, 2020 (EST)
- You know what, you win, Waluigi Time. I shouldn't propose this with only a single piece of trivia. I'll go with your idea then. Benjaminkirsc (talk) 14:03, November 30, 2020 (EST)
- Just the "using PictoChat" header should get removed or merged with the intro really. Ray Trace(T|C) 14:06, November 30, 2020 (EST)
- Do you think we should really have a proposal about the PictoChat service? Benjaminkirsc (talk) 14:10, November 30, 2020 (EST)
- Don't think a proposal is needed tbh. It's a rather simple edit to the article. The wiki can cover general information about PictoChat, and then also link it to the PictoChat header in the Nintendo DS article. Ray Trace(T|C) 14:14, November 30, 2020 (EST)
- Okay. I was thinking about it because people may disagree about it. Benjaminkirsc (talk) 14:15, November 30, 2020 (EST)
- That's fine. It never hurts to start a discussion like this before you make major changes to the article. Ray Trace(T|C) 14:19, November 30, 2020 (EST)
- Thanks Ray Trace =). Benjaminkirsc (talk) 14:23, November 30, 2020 (EST)

We should certainly say where PictoChat comes from, but our coverage should be focused on the stage. The app information can go on Nintendo DS's article. 14:35, November 30, 2020 (EST)

Okay, so we are going to a point that we should have a plan about keeping the PictoChat service, or if we need to redirect (partially or fully, or delete it altogether without a redirect) it. As a result of this, it's starting to get into needing a proposal.
Update: The proposal is updated
Proposal: Benjaminkirsc (talk)
Deadline: December 18, 2020, 23:59 GMT
Redirect all of the PictoChat service mentions
- Benjaminkirsc (talk): I propose to redirect to Nintendo DS article section titled PictoChat.
- Ninja Squid (talk): Per proposal. A simple redirect to the DS article, while keeping only the Super Smash Bros. coverage seems to be the best action overall.
