Minor Reminder

Hello, please avoid adding in "second person view" (such as you or your) onto article pages. Instead, replace with the player, player, or the names of the playable characters. Thank you. Alien Bunny Sprite.pngL151Onnanoko

Minor edits

In most of your edits you tagged the minor edits tab. Technically, the minor edit tag, "m", should only be marked for edits not really changing the article much, fixing coding errors, spelling or grammar errors, typos, adding/modifying the {{Aboutfile}} template on file pages, or replacing a image pending deletion with a better image. Power Moon Tables

Excuse me, are you the one doing the tables for the power moons on the kingdom pages? What I mean is, was it your idea to do them as tables rather than lists?--EldritchdraaksSig1.pngEldritchdraaksSig2.png 15:20, 2 November 2017 (EDT)

@Eldritchdraaks: To me it just seems like they're helping out with the tables. Toadette icon CTTT.pngFont of Archivist Toadette's signature(T|C) 15:41, 2 November 2017 (EDT)
My mistake.--EldritchdraaksSig1.pngEldritchdraaksSig2.png 15:45, 2 November 2017 (EDT)
Well, I did have the idea to put them in a chart... but someone else beat me to it on the Cascade Kingdom page. However, I am adding the images of the Moons (by taking direct images from the game). It does take some time, since there's 800+ Moons. LegoMarioFanatic 16:30, 2 November 2017 (EDT)

Why I link them all

Imagine a mobile user is 40 moons deep in the gallery (single column of images) and wants to find out more about one. Much easier to click the link and be taken directly to that section of the table than have to find the list link at the top of the section (if they know it's there) and scroll through the entire list again. Also helps with Google and tells them to associate the link names (Moon titles) with the list page for better results. --Steve (talk) Get Firefox 20:07, 2 November 2017 (EDT)

Ah... Is that why the Power Moon List is a separate article rather than just being a part of the main Kingdom article? Legomariofanatic (talk) 20:21, 2 November 2017 (EDT)

It's separate because these tables are going to be huge and sort of daunting. The gallery provides a nice visual way to process the Moons first, and then the reader and click on a Moon title for more information about it. If we were to ever give each Moon their own article, the link would simple be changed from the list anchor to the Moon article. --Steve (talk) Get Firefox 20:33, 2 November 2017 (EDT)

I know you probably won't read/see this and I probably won't ever lose my warning, but... I'm sorry for creating an edit war between you and I on the Kingdom pages. I just feel as though every Power Moon in the list shouldn't link to the chart because the List-article is already linked at the top of the list. Also, the icon used for the Multi Moons (the circle with a 3 in it) - on my PC, I can barely tell there's a 3 in that circle. (I didn't realize there was even a 3 there until I looked at the site on my phone.) I think that the Multi Moons and the Moon Rock's Moons should be labeled using the icons from the game itself, so that they are more clear to notice on all PCs. Anyways, I apologize for my poor behavior and I hope that you can forgive me for it. Legomariofanatic (talk) 19:09, 6 November 2017 (EDT)

About the tiny icons for the Multi Moons and Moon Rocks... Here's how I see them:

An image used on legomariofanatic's Talk Page to show how the page's format looks to him.

(Click / Tap the image to zoom in.)

They should really be replaced with something different in my opinion. --Legomariofanatic (talk) 00:12, 7 November 2017 (EST)

Those aren't tiny, the entire font is. It looks like you've just got the page zoomed out too far. But even so, its simple to correlate the black dot and the square, as they somewhat look on your picture.--EldritchdraaksSig1.pngEldritchdraaksSig2.png 00:26, 7 November 2017 (EST)
You also need to look at the rules for personal images, as well as get familiar with other rules of the site.--EldritchdraaksSig1.pngEldritchdraaksSig2.png 00:29, 7 November 2017 (EST)
I get the feeling that you are at 90% or 95% zoom by accident without even knowing it. What browser are you using? Each browser is different how to change the setting. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 01:12, 7 November 2017 (EST)

I’m using Google Chrome and I’m at 100% zoom. —Legomariofanatic (talk) 01:17, 7 November 2017 (EST) Legomariofanatic (talk) 01:17, 7 November 2017 (EST)

I checked and the font on my computer is bigger than the picture. What operating system is Chrome running? Mac? I checked using the Windows version. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 01:21, 7 November 2017 (EST)

Chrome is running on Mac, yes. —Legomariofanatic (talk) 01:22, 7 November 2017 (EST) Legomariofanatic (talk) 01:22, 7 November 2017 (EST)

Removal of edits

Hey. Just letting you know, if you're going to remove something another user has added, you should at least provide a reason why. Leaving a summary or talking it out can prevent misunderstandings and edit wars, and failing to do so falls under bad courtesy. You've already received a warning for this, so please don't let this happen again. Personally, I think the symbols are a more efficient way of indicating which moons are Multi Moons and Moon Rock Moons without breaking up the list. Rosalina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 06:25, 6 November 2017 (EST)

The only reason I was removing the symbols was that... on my PC, it's very difficult to notice the (3) inside the circle for the Multi Moons, and the Moon Rock icon just doesn't seem to look like a Moon Rock. I think that those icons should be replaced with their in-game counterparts, so that they appear the same on all PCs and mobile devices. Legomariofanatic (talk) 19:12, 6 November 2017 (EDT)

Moon Rock edit

What did you mean by "all the Multi Moons in the Kingdom"? Did you mean to say that the player must collect all of the Multi Moons available in the main story? Your edit did not make that clear. Also, you keep capitalizing "kingdom" as if it were a proper noun. It isn't. Only do that when referring to the name of a specific kingdom. Dark BonesSig.png 00:48, 10 November 2017 (EST)

I wasn't quite sure how to properly explain it... Sorry. What I wanted to say was something like this: In order to break the Moon Rock in the Sand Kingdom (for example), you need to collect all the Multi Moons in the Sand Kingdom. Then the Moon Rock will glow, and it will be able to be destroyed. And I'm not sure why I tend to capitalize "kingdom" all the time. I'll stop that. --Legomariofanatic (talk) 01:08, 10 November 2017 (EST)

Power Moon Pics

You're still getting pictures of the Power Moons, yeah? here's the link to the prima guide, which has a picture for each moon in the game, like what you're doing. Do you think you could take pictures similarly to the ones in the guide? --EldritchdraaksSig1.pngEldritchdraaksSig2.png 19:28, 22 November 2017 (EST)

Romaji

For future reference, please don't decapitalise the Japanese romanisations of the Power Moon names. As they are titles, they should be capitalised. Thanks. Rosalina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 05:31, 8 December 2017 (EST)

Sorry about doing that. It’s just that... all the other Japanese romanized text I’ve seen on the Wiki is “Written in sentence case”. That’s why I thought the Power Moon names should be written that way too (rather than be “Written in Title Case”). I’ll leave the Moon names in title case from now on. Legomariofanatic (talk) 06:52, 8 December 2017 (EST)

Piped links

Why did you remove the piped links on those Power Moon lists? They are immensely helpful for users who want to find the location of a specific moon. -- -- KOOPA CON CARNE 15:18, 19 December 2017 (EST)

By the way, really nice job on the lists. It's a very difficult task you've taken upon yourself, but keep them coming! -- -- KOOPA CON CARNE 15:42, 19 December 2017 (EST)
Um... I'm not exactly sure what you mean by the "piped links". Can you please explain? Thanks.
And yeah, making these Power Moon Lists articles and Regional Coin Locations articles are very time-consuming, since I have to go and get (good) pictures of everything, upload them to the site and then make a table for them from scratch. It takes about 30-45 minutes just to make the tables themselves. I'm barely even 1/4 of the way through those... (still have half the kingdoms left plus the post-game Moons) ...but I'll survive.
From: Artwork of Mario and F.L.U.D.D. for Super Mario Sunshine User:MarioGaming64 (talk | contribs) 18:29, 19 December 2017 (EST)
I was referring to anchored links, which are links that redirect to specific parts of an article through an assigned template (I mistook them for piped links, which are something else). For example, if I search for the Good Evening, Captain Toad! Power Moon, I should be brought to that section in the List of Power Moons in the Cap Kingdom. You removed the anchors in various Power Moon lists, saying they don't have a purpose anymore.
I used a lot anchor templates for one list, so when you search, for instance, Steamy Adventure, you'll be redirected exactly where the list describes that thing you searched. Take this as a model :) -- -- KOOPA CON CARNE 06:59, 20 December 2017 (EST)
I think the reason I removed them was that someone mentioned (during a talk-page discussion) that if users wanted to find a specific Power Moon in the list, they could just use the [CTRL] + [F] function on their computers. Of course, the problem is that mobile-users weren't really accounted for there... If you want, I can go and re-add the anchor links to the table again.
From: File:SMS-Mario FLUDD Pose.png LegoMarioFanatic (talk | contribs) 18:16, 20 December 2017 (EST)
Oh, so there are people who are against anchor links... Fine, then the matter should be settled in a proposal. Do you mind if I mention you and our discussion in it? And by the way, AFAIK, you can use the "Find in page" function on mobile browsers. -- -- KOOPA CON CARNE 13:02, 21 December 2017 (EST)
Well... It's not that people are against anchor links. I just though, "People can just use [CTRL] + [F] to search for Moons... and no-one's used the anchor links to link to a specific Moon on the table... therefore, we don't need the anchor links anymore." We could settle this matter with a proposal if you want to (and you can mention this conversation, if necessary).

Moon names

Where in the game are the names "Getting the Band Together" and "An Invitation from the Mayor" used? I don't seem to recall seeing them. Rosalina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 20:15, 20 December 2017 (EST)

After you defeat Mechawiggler, the mission title changes to "A Fresh Start for the City". Upon talking to Mayor Pauline, the mission changes to "Getting the Band Together". (There's even a 'story-cutscene' for it that only plays if you leave the kingdom and then come back (while the mission is active)). After powering up the Underground Power Plant (ground-pounding the switch), the game warps you back to City Hall with Pauline, and the mission changes to "An Invitation from the Mayor". (This mission also has a 'story-cutscene' that plays only if you decline the Mayor's request to be in the festival and (of course) leave the kingdom and then come back.) These mission names also are used on the map-brochure while the missions themselves are active. It is weird to have these mission names (since most normal players won't notice them), but they do exist and they are official.
