Template:Notforumtalk I think boom boom and pom pom should be in the supporters since they re the goalkeepers

Done. I thought so too. I also moved Koopa Troopa and Paratroopa to supporting cast. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 16:21, 1 September 2016 (EDT)
They DO appear in the baseball part as well, though. I think we should just have one list of playable characters until we really know how the game works, because now it's kinda just like guessing who's fully playable and who's just some supporting character at this point. ~ Qyzxf (talk)
More significantly, I'm sure I saw Pom Pom, by herself, in the Tennis part. CrashBash (talk) 17:14, 1 September 2016 (EDT)
Could you please point the trailer and the moment where you saw her? I tried looking at the trailers but couldn't find her, and this would be relevant information for the page.--Mister Wu (talk) 18:37, 1 September 2016 (EDT)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrtuP7bjffQ 0.51. It was actually the baseball part. CrashBash (talk) 12:30, 2 September 2016 (EDT)
I think Boom Boom is definitely a supporter character. In 0:27 of this video, Boom Boom has a different outline than Mario and Luigi. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C) 23:17, 2 September 2016 (EDT)

? Block Icon

I clicked on the Main Menu screenshot (on my Wii U) and zoomed in. It looked like this so called ? Block icon is simply the manual icon. I don't want to edit it though, due to the possibility of my simply being mistaken or something. Marioguy (talk) 16:51, 6 September 2016 (EDT)

That's a good call. Do any other 3DS games have a ? Block exactly like this that represents the manual? BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C) 17:03, 6 September 2016 (EDT)
I thought that's what all manual icons for the 3DS (and Wii U) look like. A question mark in a book. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 18:04, 6 September 2016 (EDT)
If that's so, then add the information. It can't be speculation if it's this consistent. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C) 20:41, 6 September 2016 (EDT)
Already added it in a few hours ago. :) Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 20:43, 6 September 2016 (EDT)

Peach and Daisy's Sports Outfit

Going by the gallery of pictures we have so far, won't we need to say for a Trivia, Princess Peach and Princess Daisy are the only two characters in this game to have two sports outfits in this game? Kangaflora (talk) 12:28, 13 September 2016 (EDT)

Actually, it seems like Rosalina has this trait too. Marioguy (talk) 21:56, 24 September 2016 (EDT)

Character Limitations

Hey i was wandering if there are Character limitations in this game was it nintendos choice in m&srio2016??? i would like to know as i pray to god there will be no limitations. Mariobirdofan02

It isn't confirmed that there are character limitations, however, there's evidence against character limitations so far: most characters barring a few were shown playable in more than one sport. I think the only characters shown in one sport were Birdo, Baby Mario, and Baby Luigi, and I would find it a bit weird that they make Baby Mario a soccer exclusive while Baby Luigi a horse-riding exclusive. This game also contains less characters than Mario & Sonic, as well as less, but more focused games. And finally, Mario & Sonic were developed by SEGA, this game is developed by different developers, Camelot and Namco Bandai games. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C) 15:36, 30 September 2016 (EDT)
Baby Mario is also in Golf, so there is little to worry about, for the reasons said by Baby Luigi: five sports (not all developed by the same team) and a (relatively) small roster don't create the need of restricting characters to some sports in order not to create huge animations sets. SEGA itself doesn't seem to be exactly fond of restricitng characters that much, to the point that in the Wii U and arcade versions of Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games the core cast from the 2010 game has no restriction at all.--Mister Wu (talk) 16:04, 30 September 2016 (EDT)

Japanese's realesed : July 2017 ?

Hello, in USA and Europe, the game realesed in spring 2017 (March-April-May 2017). And for Japan, Winter 2017 ? (June-July 2017) ? --Captain Yoshi 12:35, 27 November 2016 (EST)

Source? Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 14:11, 27 November 2016 (EST)
We know the USA and Europe release date but I don't think there's anything confirmed for Japanese release dates. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C) 14:26, 27 November 2016 (EST)
Bazooka Mario, you say "Source?", you bindled or What ? I asked a question for the japanese's realesed. And Baby Luigi thanks for the information --Captain Yoshi 05:20, 28 November 2016 (EST)
There's no need to be rude, Captain Yoshi. He only asked you for a source as to where you got your claim for the Japanese release date. CrashBash (talk) 07:01, 28 November 2016 (EST)
Yes but i asked a question --Captain Yoshi 13:02, 28 November 2016 (EST)
It doesn't look like a question, though. It looks like you're making a statement, as if you're saying "The game will be released in Japan in the Winter 2017". So naturally it would make sense for Bazooka Mario to ask for a source, I.E. where did you get that statement from? CrashBash (talk) 14:11, 28 November 2016 (EST)
She, not he. It wasn't clear to me what you were asking. And even if that was a legit question, you could've possibly gotten a date from a source and tried to ask us for confirmation before you add it to a page. Either way, if you see a release date that's inconsistent with the article's release date in a recent source, you should provide the source. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. My apologies. CrashBash (talk) 04:21, 29 November 2016 (EST)

Character Types are Color-Coded

https://youtu.be/_j7SNjlsSDc?t=34s

For the partner characters, we can make out what type they are by the background behind their head. On the main character selection screen, it shows Balance characters are Green, Technique is Blue, Speed is Yellow, and Power is Red.
The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.88.50.65 (talk).

I already know the background thing, you can easily observe this by looking at the initial reveal trailer. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C) 18:53, 26 January 2017 (EST)
I'm just curious if the fact that Magikoopa's circle has a blue outline and blue filling while Paratroopa's has a blue outline and green filling means anything other than potentially just color-swaps. MarioComix (talk) 22:36, 26 January 2017 (EST)

That's not what I mean. The page says the circles indicate whether they're "generic characters" or not. But the new trailer shows that it actually indicates their character type. Like Boom Boom and Spike have red background, meaning they're Power characters. As for the Paratroopa multi-colored circle, the top screen shows Paratroopa's full model, and it's a green one. So the blue is probably Paratroopa's type (Technique) while the green indicates that it's a Green Paratroopa. Template:71.88.50.65

That was actually originally referring to the bottom screen positions in soccer (can be seen here or in the original announcement trailer). MarioComix (talk) 16:32, 28 January 2017 (EST)
