Warnings
Don't give IP's warnings. Only give warnings to those who have an account, as per Warning Policy. ShyGuy8 (talk|contribs) 00:28, 4 June 2015 (EDT)
- OK, no offence, but that's a stupid rule. No other wikia has that rule - every single other one I've been on allows you to warn IPs. And besides, you can clearly see he's just there to vandalise. You're effectively giving him free-reign to do what he wants. Again, that's stupid, and counter-productive. Crash-Bash (talk) 02:03, 4 June 2015 (EDT)
"Anonymous users (also referred to as anons), follow a different warning procedure. If an IP is seen committing a level one offense, instead of issuing progressive warning templates, they should receive an informal reminder on their talk page explaining what policies/guidelines they are infringing. If their behavior continues, alert an admin so they may be blocked for a short period of time (usually two weeks or so). If an IP address is seen vandalizing (like blanking pages or adding profanity to articles), rather than issuing a warning template, please alert an admin so they can be blocked (never indefinitely; a few months at the most)." Binarystep (talk) 02:08, 4 June 2015 (EDT)
- Well then, do something about him then. I don't know who the admins are and you can clearly see he ignored my informal reminder. Crash-Bash (talk) 04:33, 4 June 2015 (EDT)
Just so you know
Hello. Upholding our Warning Policy by issuing informal reminders to problematic anonymous users is always appreciated, but just to let you know, you should avoid using language that could potentially cause others to believe that you're part of the wiki's administrative team, as you did here. We realize this was unintentional, but we wanted to make you aware for future reference, as doing this can cause undue confusion for users and may be construed as a level three violation of the wiki's rules. If you have any questions about this, feel free to contact me or another staff member. Thanks.
