Super Mario Spikers
Template:Infobox Super Mario Spikers is the name of a cancelled game that was to be developed by Next Level Games, the same studio that created Mario Smash Football for the Nintendo GameCube and Mario Strikers Charged Football for the Wii.
The game was conceived after the release of Mario Strikers Charged Football and would be made for the Wii. Super Mario Spikers would be a sports game whose concept would be a mixture of volleyball with wrestling. No further information about the game has been revealed other than a short animation test, where the character Waluigi can be seen jumping over Mario and leaping to hit a ball. It is worth mentioning that Mario in such video wears an outfit heavily based to those used by the characters in the Mario Football series. Therefore, the game would likely have the same gritty content as seen in the two Mario games the studio has created so far.
It is unknown the reasons of the cancellation, as much as after they have decided to stop the production of this game, they proceeded to develop another Nintendo game, Punch-Out!!.
