A Ghost Vase

Ghost Vases[1] are floating stands found in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. When the player gets close to a Ghost Vase, it will turn purple and fly into the air, rotating. However, it will eventually stop and rotate faster. After this, it will fly toward the player. The player can avoid the Ghost Vase simply by jumping over it or running away from it. If the Ghost Vase misses its target, it will continue to fly until it hits a platform or a wall, where it will break and release a coin.

Ghost Vases are mainly found in the Template:World-link and the Template:World-link.

A similar enemy called a Ghost Block appears in New Super Mario Bros. Wii and New Super Mario Bros. U.

Trivia

  • The Ghost Vase is one of the two new enemies from New Super Mario Bros. Wii that do not return in New Super Mario Bros. U, the other being the King Bill.
  • The Ghost Vase's method of attack is very similar to that of the Invisighoul of Yoshi's Island DS throwing furniture - remaining still until approached, then swaying in the air and thrown directly at the player. A laughing Boo also implies it was thrown by one, as the furniture was by Invisighouls.
