Mega Mole

A Mega Mole, a giant version of a Monty Mole.

A Mega Mole is a giant Monty Mole that only appears in Super Mario World. The Stomp attack won't work against them, but a cape slash will. They are also immune to almost all in-game hazards like Munchers and spikes. Mario can jump on them and stand on their heads so he can get a free ride.

Other Notes

• Unlike regular Monty Moles, they don't pop out of holes in the ground.

• They only appear in the cave levels and in large groups.

• Moles are always deemed as being blind, and in cartoons they wear sunglasses like a blind person.

• They can be eaten by Yoshi, despite their size

• Mega Moles are one of the few foes that can hurt Mario while he is riding Yoshi. (Most enemies merely result in the loss of Yoshi, while a few others both hurt Mario and force Yoshi to run away.)

• A character named Muddy Mole appears in a game called Mole Madness with his family. It is currently unknown as to whether or not Muddy is a Monty Mole, Mega Mole or some sort of distance relative, although their appearances are almost identical, as Muddy has a pair of sunglasses, like the Monty Moles and Mega Moles from Super Mario World.
