The player or players must work their way to the top, facing six other teams along the way. If the Battle Mode is completed, Free Mode is unlocked, allowing up to four people to play together. The game was reincluded in Mario Party 5 under the name Beach Volleyball. This version of the game featured different types of volleyballs for the players to use:
1. A normal volleyball;
2: A Dice Block volleyball (the points you receive depends on the number on the ball);
3. A Bob-omb volleyball (you keep volleying until it explodes, causing your opponent to receive the point).
One can also choose between 5-15 points in the Mario Party 5 version of this game.
