List of power-ups

Template:Articleabout Power-Ups give special abilities to the character receiving the power-up. Most of the abilities include changing the character's size and giving them the power to fly.

Super Mario Bros.

Item	Effect
1-Up Mushroom	Gives Mario an extra life.
Fire Flower	Lets Mario shoot fireballs.
Starman	Makes Mario temporarily invincible.
Super Mushroom	Makes Mario grow double size, allows him to break bricks.

Super Mario Bros. 3

Item	Effect
Frog Suit	Allows Mario to swim faster and in any direction.
Goomba's Shoe	Allows Mario to walk on spikes.
Hammer Suit	Mario can throw hammers.
Super Leaf	Gives Mario the ability of flight and a tail attack.
Tanooki Suit	Allows Mario to Fly, turn into an invulnerable statue, and a tail attack.

Super Mario Land

Item	Effect
Fire Flower	Allows Mario to toss superballs.

Super Mario World

Item	Effect
Cape Feather	Slows Mario's descent from the air, can fly, damages enemies around while Spin Jumping.
P-Balloon	Temporarily inflates Mario, allowing him to float.

Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins

Item	Effect
Carrot	Slows Mario's descent from the air, can hop continuously.

Super Mario 64

Item	Effect
Wing Cap	Temporary flight.
Vanish Cap	Temporarily allows Mario to walk through enemies and chain link fences.
Metal Cap	Temporary invulnerability, and ability to sink in water.

Super Mario 64 DS

Item	Effect
Feather	Works identically to the Wing Cap.
Power Flower	Works as a P-Balloon for Mario, Metal Cap for Wario, Vanish Cap for Luigi, and gives Yoshi fire-breath.

Item	Effect
Ice Flower	Allows Mario to throw ice balls.

New Super Mario Bros.

Item	Effect
Blue Shell	Lets Mario slide as a shell, or hide to become invulnerable.
Mega Mushroom	Makes Mario temporarily gigantic and super-strong.
Mini Mushroom	Makes Mario tiny, lighter, and super-agile.

Super Mario Galaxy

Item	Effect
Bee Mushroom	Allows Mario and Luigi to fly and stick to honeycombs.
Boo Mushroom	Allows Mario and Luigi to hover and become transparent
Rainbow Star	Makes Mario and Luigi temporarily invincible.
Red Star	Allows Mario and Luigi to fly.
Spring Mushroom	Gives Mario and Luigi the power to jump higher.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii

Item	Effect
Penguin Suit	Mario can slide on his belly, shoot iceballs, and swim better.
Propeller Mushroom	Mario can fly through the air.
