White Yoshi

A White Yoshi.

White Yoshis are a species of Yoshi. They are unlockable and are rarer than Black Yoshis. They, alike the Black Yoshis, can eat things that normal ones cannot, like Peppers. One can be found in Stage 3-2: The Tall Tower. White Yoshis appear in Yoshi's Island DS, playable in the Extra stage in each world.

In Mario Power Tennis, Yoshi can change colors every time he performs a Rolling Egg Return, provided the player has completed the Flower Cup with any character. One of the colors that Yoshi can turn is white. In Yoshi's Story they can be found in Page 3-2, 3-3.

Abilities and Features (Yoshi's Story)

• Like the Black Yoshi, White Yoshis can eat things that the other Yoshis wouldn't like. This includes red peppers and Black Shy Guys.
• White Yoshis can fire eggs that explode when their happy meter is full.
• White Yoshis can flutter further when they're a Super Happy Yoshi.
• While the Black Yoshi has the lowest pitched voice, White Yoshi has the highest pitched voice.

In Yoshi's Story, White Yoshi debuts with white skin and cyan shoes with a red saddle. This design has gone unchanged. They were also in Yoshi's Island DS. They were unlockable by getting a perfect 800 in a world when they were then able to be played in the unlockable course.

Trivia

• White Yoshis and Black Yoshis are the only Yoshis in Yoshi's Story that enjoy all the fruit, even the hot peppers.
• Another strange matter is that although Yoshi is playable in Super Mario Sluggers, both White and Black Yoshi are not a playable color. Also, the Orange Yoshi and Purple Yoshi are absent in that game too.
