Dark Goombas are tougher versions of normal Goombas that live in the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials during the events of Super Paper Mario. They have ten HP and can inflict two points of damage to Mario and his allies. They are not really "dark" creatures (in the sense of a Gloomba), just shadow-like Goombas. They are found in the following rooms of the Pit: 001; 002; 003; 008; 016; 056. It is thought that shadoo the monster a the bottom of the same pit created it with it's power to clone anyone.
