The Shake King is a pirate first appearing in the game Wario Land: Shake It!. The Shake King and his pirate gang, whereunder Bandineros attempted to take over the Shake Dimension. In order to do so, they attacked the Shake Dimension and imprisoned its ruler, Queen Merelda, and her loyal subjects (the Merfles), on their ship. The greedy pirates stole the Shake Dimension's treasure as well (known as the Bottomless Coin Sack, which could spit out an endless amount of coins every time it was shaken). However, one Merfle managed to escape from the pirate ship and got into Wario's world, to seek help in liberating the Shake Dimension from the Shake King's takeover (which Wario agrees toward, but mainly for the Bottomless Coin Sack itself). If Wario collected all of the Boss icons, Wario could locate the Shake King's ship where the final confrontation awaits against the Shake King himself.

In normal levels, if the timer reached zero, the Shake King will grab Wario, take all of his collected stuff away, throw him back to the checkpoint or farther away from it.

Strategy

  • Stage 1

Jump on the Shake King when he uses the charge attack to make him crash into a wall. Use a charge attack on his bottom reapeatedly until he falls out of the wall. Next, throw him into any wall, doing a large amount of damage. When the Shake King is charging any attack, other than the charge), use an earthshake punch to cancel the attack. If an earthshake punch is used when the Shake King does his own punch it is possible to counter it and get a chance to attack.

  • Stage 2

Reapeat the same process as stage one exept now when the Shake King uses the charge, the player will need to jump on him 2 times. Be sure to dodge his ground pound by going under him while he's in midair and jump over the energy bursts.

  • Stage 3

In order to counter the Shake King's charge, the player will need to jump on him 3 times. In order to dodge the lightning from the thunderbolts, stand in between them. For the energy balls, just dodge them like a flying enemy. As for the large lightning bolts after the charge attack, dash under the Shake King while the lightning is out for a large blast and the rhird blast stand in close to avoid being shot by an energy ball.

Trivia

  • His name is an obvious pun on the word "shaking". This is fitting to what he does; shake Wario.
  • The Shake King bears a slight resemblance to Booster.
  • He resembles a Viking (Some sort of pirate which has appeared in places such as Denmark and Norway). It's possible that his name is a pun on that word.
  • It is interesting to note that he has the same tint of blue around the outside of his eyes like Wario.
  • The Shake King seems to have a romantic interest in Queen Merelda, but Merelda is not interested in the Shake King. This is similiar to Bowser and Peach.
  • The Shake King can use his own variation of each of Wario's standard moves. His versions are all slightly slower.
