Pie Hard is a 2-vs.-2 minigame appearing in Super Mario Party. The name is a pun on the phrase "die hard", or the title of the 1988 action film of the same name.

Introduction

A player from the left team throws a pie at the other team, causing both team members of the right team to jump in surprise. Everyone then grabs a pie, and the minigame begins.

Gameplay

In this minigame, teams must throw cream pies at each other. Each player can hold up to two pies. They automatically carry a pie if they move near one. If players hit an opponent, they earn one point. After 30 seconds have passed, the team with more points wins.

On Challenge Road, this is the eleventh minigame of Salty Sea and the 61st minigame overall. In the normal challenge, the player must beat the opposing team. In the Master Challenge, the player must win without getting hit with a pie.

Controls

  • Control Stick – Move
  • Single Joy-Con Right Button – Throw

In-game text

  • "Launch pies at your rivals!"
  • "You can hold up to two pies at once."
  • Tips: "The best time to take aim is when your rivals are going back to the table!"
