- A prototype for Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island features an unused bomb transformation that was going to defeat every enemy on the screen.
- Re-Koils may have taken inspiration from Tigger, a character from Winnie-the-Pooh who is similarly orange and uses his tail as a spring.
- In the Wario Land: Shake It! level Boogie Mansion only, Treasure Chomps replace actual treasure chests.
- Piranha Plant Pipeline is the only new course originating from Mario Kart Tour to not appear in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, especially the Booster Course Pass.
