The Runaway Ferris Wheel is the fifth episode of Pinna Park in Super Mario Sunshine. The episode's objective is to climb the Ferris Wheel and defeat the Electro-Koopa King at the top.
Layout
The Electro-Koopa King is resting at the top of the park's Ferris Wheel, whose electrical discharge is causing the wheel to spin faster and uncontrollably. The player can take one of two ways to reach it: one way is to climb to the top of the large, green ramp and use the Hover Nozzle to reach the top platform of the Ferris Wheel. Another way is to climb up the back of the Ferris Wheel by going through an obstacle course.
The back of the Ferris Wheel is full of metal screens crawling with Red Electrokoopas. The player can use FLUDD to spray the green platforms, causing them to flip and allow the player to stand on them for a short period of time. The player also needs to defeat the Red Electrokoopas in their way in order to move forward. By climbing on the opposite side of the grate, the player can press when behind the Koopa to launch them. Once the player reaches the top of the Ferris Wheel, they have to use a rope to bounce up and grab the platform above, followed by pressing when under the Revolving Gate to launch the Electro-Koopa King into the water. With the Koopa defeated, the Ferris Wheel returns to normal speed and a Shine Sprite appears at the top. The player has to ride one of the Ferris Wheel's carriages to the top in order to collect the Shine Sprite.
