Vanilla Secret 1 is a secret level of the Vanilla Dome in Super Mario World. It is when the player must jump up hills, in a cave, while avoiding Koopa Troopas and Passin' Chucks. If the player makes their way up the hills to the exit, they unlock a Warp Pipe leading to Vanilla Secret 2 (which is played outside the Vanilla Dome).

Layout

To start, Mario must first jump over the hills, avoiding the Koopas in the way, and jump to the right. Next, the player must jump on the spring platforms to get to higher ground and to reach a nearby pipe, with three blocks above it. When Mario hits the middle block, a Beanstalk pops out, going up to a Dragon Coin and a block containing another Beanstalk. After Mario climbs that Beanstalk, he must time his jump on a Jumping Board to reach a platform, while avoiding a few Koopa Paratroopas. After this, the player can use another Jumping Board to reach two more Dragon Coins. When the player jumps on more of the bouncy platforms to a Warp Pipe, he reaches the Giant Gate, which opens up a Warp Pipe on the map, taking the player to Vanilla Secret 2.

Secret exit

Mario can reach the secret exit either by beating the Blue Switch Palace (in the Forest of Illusion), or by using a Cape Feather. When Mario is at the first Jumping Board, he must carry it and go to the left and place it on the blue ! Blocks, jumping on it to reach a Warp Pipe (Caped Mario can run and jump to the Pipe). Past the pipe is the Gate, which lets Mario go to the Star Road.
