Daiya Yoshi is an original transformation that Yoshi takes in chapter 15 of Super Mario-kun Volume 11.
Not able to defeat the Goro statue with bombs, Wanda suggests destroying the nearby monsters, collect the Diamonds they drop, and use them against the statue. Luigi defeats the monsters and some Diamonds appear, but Yoshi eats them, turning in Daiya Yoshi, much to Birdo's delight. While Wario laughs, Mario grabs Yoshi and puts him in Birdo's snout and, using her as a bazooka, shoots Yoshi at the statue, destroying it. While Wario flees in defeat, Yoshi (who turned back to normal) recovers, albeit with a giant bump on his head and his teeth shattered.
