Herbicidal Maniac is a 2-vs.-2 minigame in Mario Party 7. The minigame's name is a portmanteau of "homicidal maniac," which is a term that refers to a person with an insane desire to kill other people, and "herbicide," a chemical used to kill plants.

Introduction

Piranha Plants and bombs emerge from all the pipes and then go back in as the players' pipe platforms move up.

Gameplay

Two players on each team have to shoot all the Piranha Plants that pop out of the pipes. However, if a bomb is hit, many more Piranha Plants will appear, making it more difficult for the team to win. On each team, the first player has a round target cursor and the second player has a square one. If two teammates try to shoot the same target simultaneously, their projectiles will hit each other and be destroyed upon contact. When a team shoots all the Piranha Plants on its side, that team earns a point. The first team to earn three points wins.

Ending

The ending to Herbicidal Maniac

The winners do their winning animations, while the losers do their losing animations as their platforms are lowered. If the minigame ends in a tie, both teams do their losing poses while their platforms are lowered.

Controls

  • Control Stick – Move cursor
  • A Button – Fire

In-game text
