Rayquaza is a legendary Pokémon in the Pokémon series. He is the mascot of Pokémon Emerald. He appears in the Subspace Emissary story of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. During the events of the story, he appears out of a lake in the jungle when he hears Diddy Kong. He attacks him with Dragon Pulse, then snatches him in his hand. Afterwards, Diddy Kong screams for help, with Fox, who was in the damaged Arwing nearby (which Diddy found earlier), jumping out to help him using Fox Illusion. After that, Fox and Diddy fight Rayquaza as a boss, similar to Petey Piranha. Some of his attacks involve burrowing into the ground then bursting upwards, or flying with great speed horizontally over the stage. The player can beat him by attacking him around the head.
