The Case of the Missing Mural is a stage in Princess Peach: Showtime!, located in the far right on the second floor of the Sparkle Theater. This stage is unlocked after clearing all of 1F. It is the first stage where the Detective transformation is introduced.

Layout

The stage begins with Princess Peach and Stella arriving in a city, noticing after a short walk that the local museum is closed to the public. In front, the Junior Detective attempts to get in in order to solve whatever was inside, only to be shooed away by the guards. Disappointed, he walks away and notices Peach, whom she invites to the detective agency of his mentor. Peach looks at the books on the shelves, and using the images of the open book, she unlocks a hidden room behind the bookcase.

Having received the Detective Peach transformation in that room, she returns to the previous room to complete an investigation test that Junior Detective had set up in the meantime. The two of them return to the museum entrance where the police officers consider her to be the real detective and lets the duo go inside.

Inside the museum there is a strict exit blockade guarded by the police officers, to the frustration of Theets in the entrance area who wish to leave. The duo soon reach the Theepota mural room where the mural vanish soon after. Making their way to the popcorn kiosk area, they eventually track down the two culprits who accidentally reveals that the mural is still inside the museum. With Junior Detective and a museum Staff Member hinting that they want some fresh air from opening a nearby window, Peach gets a solid clue on where the mural is, though opening the window is not mandatory for her to find the mural. She eventually finds the mural behind a curtain that was placed where the mural had been standing all along.

Loss outcomes

If Peach selects Strike of Intuition on an incorrect Theet, the Theet will get very angry at Peach and exclaim "I'm not one of the culprits!" in addition to the usual loss of one HP when Peach makes a wrong guess.

  6. After using a Strike of Intuition to reveal the vent behind the crooked slate.*
  7. Found inside a locked blue sarcophagus. To open it, Peach must find a blue Spades key.

  9. After using a Strike of Intuition to expose a Criminal disguised as a statue.*
  10. After using a Strike of Intuition to reveal the mural, thus solving the case.*

Dress Ribbon

Detective Dress: The Ribboner is found behind a house in the first section of the stage. He is sad that he lost his ticket. Peach must use Sparkle Power on the lower right shrub, which has the Ribboner's ticket. He will reward Peach the Dress Ribbon and become happy afterwards.

  • Rescue message: "Oooh! You found it?! Yay! Now I can go to the museum!"

Postgame hidden Theets

Trivia

  • The Dutch version has a translation error in the level: Staff Members, known as "Theatermedewerker" in Dutch, retain that name for the museum's staff members despite it not being a theater.
