It is also a pun on Manfred "the Red Baron" von Richthofen, a famous pilot. They are rotund creatures classified as heavy enemies. Count Richtertoffen wear a blue shirt with an arrow drawn on it and black pants. They attack by jumping up, then dropping to shake the ground or crush Wario to trigger Flat Wario.
