Front cover for The Super Mario Bros. Super Show VHS, Butch Mario and the Luigi Kid

Butch Mario and the Luigi Kid is the second VHS release of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, and the first one to be released in retail. It was released by Kids Klassics in September 1989. The VHS is 30 minutes long, and contains the animated segment "Butch Mario and the Luigi Kid" alongside two live-action segments, "All Steamed Up" and "Magic's Magic".

The front cover showcases Mario, Luigi, and Toad riding on ostriches while looking at a wanted poster on a cactus with Mario and Luigi's faces on it. The artwork uses Toad's standard design, although in the actual episode his cap colors are swapped.

King Koopa has kidnapped the Princess and hidden her in the Wild, Wild West. When Mario and Luigi ride into town to save her, they find they are wanted outlaws and are thrown in jail. It's all a plot by Koopa The Kid, but the Marios break out of jail and rescue the Princess in a blazing showdown.
