- Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (pictured) was originally named Super Mario Bros. 5: Yoshi's Island in Japan during development.
- According to a Nintendo DREAM interview with the developers of Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey, the Best Fitness Friends are the same species as Midbus, but their relationship with him had soured.
- The in-game files of Ninja Kong refer to him as "Miyamoto," not as in series creator Shigeru Miyamoto, but rather Miyamoto Musashi, a wandering samurai warrior during the era of Japan's warring states.
- Rango is the only member of the Broodals who does not need to be fought before defeating Bowser at least once.
