Mario finding the Super Hammer in Dry Dry Ruins.

The Super Hammer is a powerful upgrade to the regular Hammer in the Paper Mario, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.

In Paper Mario, it can smash Stone Blocks and deals more damage to enemies.

In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, it can smash gray rocks, which happen to be blocking the entrance to Teehee Valley.

In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, it can be used to break large Yellow Blocks. In this game, it is alternatively referred to as the HAMMAWHACK 2005, and was given to Mario in Glitzville by Podler, who in turn received it from X, so that he could could use it to smash the large Yellow Block in the minor league locker room. Podler Describes it as "A real nice hammer. All around Solid craftsmanship, good grip, high bonkability." He also says that the commercials for it claim that the hammer chooses it's user, and that they aren't cheap.
