Cap Block
The SM64 / SM64DS section on ! Block suggests that the article be split into "! Block" and "Cap Block." I created an article for Cap Block, but 7feetunder reverted my edits because the split wasn't discussed. Do you think an article for Cap Block should be made? I can't message User:Results May Vary because their talk page is too long. I can't write them a message because it just lags to much, but is there some way you could tell them to archive their talk page? Thanks, that would help a lot. ☆Scarlet Pairo☆ talk 13:17, December 11, 2021 (EST)

Hot Wheels page
Hello! Before starting a revert war I have to ask, is there a wiki policy pertaining merchandise? I can see that most articles about merchandise don't include a "one in package and one open" gallery so I don't see why this should apply too specially since there are not good quality images of everything on the web and no one else is helping to add photos of their own. Regards! MariusM (talk) 14:35, January 3, 2022 (EST)
- As far as I'm aware there's not a specific policy for that, however there is precedent to have both images, such as Gallery:amiibo and other items on the Hot Wheels page. Personally I think in this specific case, it's good to have both images to provide a clear picture of the product. Since these are fairly recent products it shouldn't be too difficult to find high-quality images of them, online storefronts can be a good place to look. -- Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 16:06, January 3, 2022 (EST)
- Exactly, the amiibo Mainspace page and the Gallery:amiibo are two different pages that cover different aspects. In this case the first shows the toys Out of Box while the latter is for OoB and IB. The Hot Wheels page should be more akin to the amiibo page for general information, available images and lists. A new page Gallery:Hot Wheels can be created to add both options, but not the mainspace one. The other items on the Hot Wheels page that appear with both were added by you since 2019 and there hasn't been any clear intention of adding the rest by you or anyone else for the other lines besides the Character cars very recently. MariusM (talk) 17:27, January 3, 2022 (EST)
- The amiibo article may be an outlier, but the principle is still the same. Hot Wheels (like most other merchandise-based articles such as San-ei Co., Ltd. and K'NEX) isn't split between an article and a separate gallery, it's more of a hybrid page. You could propose it, but there's no reason to split off into a separate gallery in my opinion, because there's just not enough information about the merchandise line by itself to warrant separate pages for the information and the images. -- Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 18:08, January 3, 2022 (EST)
- My point was not to create the Gallery. As you well said amiibo is the outlier, the rest of the merchandise pages don't have a need for both OoB and IB. In this similar vein the images IB show the product well enough, the issue is that the Gallery tabs reduce the size of the image and it seems to not be clear enough to exemplify the products altough when clicking on every image gives the detail I think you'd like to be added to the page. The other point I'm raising is that the fact that someone adds a "Nocoverart.png" to a Gallery should only be done when no other image exists at all that exmplifies the object or subject. In this case there was a IB image for most, if another user has or can add a second image with different details it should be done after uploading them, not as placeholders with no particular intention from the user or others to add them in a not specified future. Also, if a group picture exemplifies all the products and there doesn't seem to be individual images, why not leave the group photo? MariusM (talk) 18:33, January 3, 2022 (EST)
- amiibo is the outlier in organization, not coverage. There's no reason not to have both images for better coverage. The formatting you had under the 8-Car Series section with the group photo and the gallery removed isn't really the kind of formatting that works well on a wiki either, I'm afraid. As far as I'm aware there's not really anything set in stone for using image placeholders, there could be an argument either way for that. -- Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 19:00, January 3, 2022 (EST)

BJAODN
I put {{fake link}} on the headers of entries without pages because some used the template like this before I cleaned up the pages; many of the entries were pages at a point in time; and it just looks better alongside the headers with links. ShootingStar7X (talk) 08:01, March 8, 2022 (EST)
- I really don't think that's necessary, the point of the header link is to show that this is a real page that (currently) exists and to take you there. Having what appears to be a link that goes nowhere because the page was deleted long ago isn't really helpful. Fake link has its uses but I don't think this is one of them. -- Too Bad! Talking about wiki projects
Is it ok if I mention some wiki projects (as long as not done excessively & within context)? I told LinkTheLefty that some of the deleted/out of scope Mario Wiki articles live on at Miraheze (me & him have discussed Triforce Wiki and some other wiki stuff before, so it not advertising). I'm not sure what inclined me to message one of the other users -- I think I was saying that I'm thankful that his work on here with obscure Nintendo stuff & it relation to Mario help me on a separate wiki project. Results May Vary (talk) 13:14, March 12, 2022 (EST)
- I don't think there would be any issue with it. -- Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 13:19, March 12, 2022 (EST)
- That's good to know, especially because I think some others around here don't like seeing some of the content here wasted (or want to make more of it, but Mario Wiki not being the right home for it, e.g. Conker, Zelda, Banjo, SSB). Results May Vary (talk) 13:25, March 12, 2022 (EST)

A New idea for Mario Kart Tour's variants
Hey there. I've still been trying to think of ways to cover most of Mario Kart Tour's various variants. I did bring up a new idea on Tour's talk page about possibly creating list articles for a base subject's variants (example "List of Mario Variants in Mario Kart Tour). It's been some time and not much activity has kicked up, so I thought I'd try asking some people directly, mostly people who were involved with my initial proposal concerning palette swaps. I understand the opposition, but I still feel we can cover variants differently, since Mario has like nearly 20 variants in total. I know that there are a lot of characters who only have like one or two variants, which is why I was thinking maybe we could make listing articles for subjects who reach a certain number of variants. I was hoping to get some further insight on other people's opinions and see if they have anything they can contribute further in terms of ideas on how it could work or things I could be missing. Proposal rule change
My proposal to amend rule 8 just passed, and both proposed solutions are pending application. The rule should be edited to read like this:
"Any proposal where none of the options have at least four votes will be extended for another week. If after three extensions, no options have at least four votes, the proposal will be listed as "NO QUORUM." The original proposer then has the option to relist said proposal to generate more discussion."
A Wario has blown up recently
I regret inform you that a Wario has been involved in a recent local explosion, taking place roughly near Princess Peach's Castle gardens. It is a tragedy since you have not been personally involved with it, so here is some advice on how you can be involved in the inevitable future Wario casualty. What could I have done in this incident?
What are Mario's recommended ways to kill Wario?

Models
Both types have a place is all I can say. There was no need whatsoever to delete those SM3DL images; they depict the entity in a different manner with different pros and cons. I strongly suggest you work on your trigger discipline; you are not the sole arbiter on what images should stay. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 22:25, May 25, 2022 (EDT)
- Contexts that, if I may point out, are already covered by gameplay screenshots, and if I might add, done better since you can see them in the context of the in-game environment there. Sandmaargh's was even directly edited out of this exact screenshot. (Not sure if we have any exact matches for Tanooki Mario looking up admittedly, but we obviously don't need separate images for every single thing a model can do.) Nothing important was lost, and I wouldn't have deleted them if there would have been. I don't think I'm being the "sole arbiter" on this and I did bring discussion up both in the Discord server and on the proposal, where several users supported moving in this direction. Of course I do welcome anyone to call me out if they think I've gone too far (preferably on specific instances so I can easily address them), I'm trying to be fairly cautious but others may disagree and a second opinion never hurt. -- Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 12:16, May 26, 2022 (EDT)

Requesting userpage deletion
Hi, this is Results May Vary. I've waited for the right moment to ask, but I'm kindly requesting for my user page to be deleted (not talk page). It's not running away -- it's to symbolize the fact that I've moved on. I am sorry for ever being involved with the wikis, delayed and hesitant apologies, and I am also sorry for being very mean to some folks online. I don't want to appeal my ban -- please, if anything, keep me permabanned -- as unbanning me would not reflect the fact that I'm done with online communities from now on (and no, this is not one of those cases). People did not trust me to learn from my mistakes or not do the same thing again, so by deleting the Discord and moving on, both online and in real life, that is my best way of conveying it.
Also, people might be bugged by the alternative wikis I've either founded or established, but unlike what some may think, it's not to stand up to haters (that was the early days). It's just me wanting to do my own thing from now on. 45.34.11.165 12:16, July 3, 2022 (EDT)
