Acorn Plains Way, or Acorn Plains-1, is the first course of Acorn Plains, and subsequently, the first course of New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. It is unlocked from the beginning of the game, and its completion unlocks Tilted Tunnel. This is also the location of the first Nabbit chase, triggered upon completion of Stone-Eye Zone. The Acorn Tree and Peach's Castle are visible in the background of this level.

The level begins with some ? Blocks, one of which contains a power-up. Two Goombas are found, along with a Waddlewing holding a Super Acorn. Some semi-solid platforms are found, along with a Koopa Troopa and a Waddlewing. More Goombas are found, along with a structure made of Brick Blocks containing coins and a Goomba. More coins can be found on a platform in the air above. A moving semi-solid platform is found, followed by the Checkpoint Flag. Before the Checkpoint Flag, a row of Brick Blocks can be destroyed to access hidden coins. More Goombas are found, along with a moving semi-solid platform and a Piranha Plant. Another Waddlewing is encountered along with a Red Ring. More semi-solid platforms and Goombas are found. Some moving portions of the ground are found, and are followed by a staircase made of blocks and a Waddlewing. The Goal Pole can then be reached.

Star Coins

  • Star Coin 1: The first Star Coin is after the second set of ? Blocks, suspended in mid-air.
  • Star Coin 2: The second Star Coin is found in the green Warp Pipe directly after the first Star Coin.
  • Star Coin 3: The third Star Coin can be found in a Warp Pipe, near the end of the level, at the top of the area. The player must use the Flying Squirrel Suit or Peachette (New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe only) to reach it.
