Template:Levelbox Diagonal Valley Rally is the special level of World 1 in Yoshi's New Island. Throughout the level, Yoshi has to traverse a series of Flatbed Ferries that move on diagonal tracks, as the level's name indicates. Some Flatbed Ferries move on circuits, which enclose items such as coins and Smiley Flowers that Yoshi can collect by traveling around these circuits.
Overview
From the start of the level, Yoshi must take two lifts until he reaches a platform with an Egg Plant. From there on, he must take another lift to the bottom right, then traverse several other moving lifts while avoiding Bullet Bills and Fly Guys. A series of magenta lifts follow, which lead Yoshi towards a platform with a Shy Guy. The level continues with several more lifts, where Yoshi must avoid Gusties and Blowhards, followed by the Goal Ring.
Smiley Flowers
- Smiley Flower 1: The first Smiley Flower is held inside a Winged Cloud carried by a Fly Guy. To find it, Yoshi must take the top-right lift from the Egg Plant and ride it to the other end of its track. Yoshi can hit the Winged Cloud with an enemy or an egg or simply eat the Fly Guy to reveal the flower.
- Smiley Flower 2: The second Smiley Flower is surrounded by four moving lifts after several Bill Blasters and Fly Guys.
- Smiley Flower 3: The third Smiley Flower can be grabbed by following a trail of coins while riding the third magenta lift all the way to the bottom. The Smiley Flower can also be obtained by hitting it with an egg from a nearby platform.
- Smiley Flower 4: The fourth Smiley Flower is inside a hidden Winged Cloud above a platform. As Yoshi traverses two moving lifts from the location of the third Smiley Flower, he can jump off a lift moving counterclockwise on a closed circuit and reach the platform with the Winged Cloud.
- Smiley Flower 5: The fifth Smiley Flower is in the same area, surrounded by moving lifts. Yoshi should avoid Needlenoses shot by Blowhards while collecting it.
