Mario's Early Years! Fun with Letters was an educational Mario game, that taught about letters. Mario, Princess Peach, and Yoshi started out on a little wooden boat in an ocean of various islands. Each of the seven islands taught a different style of literature, for example, there was Vowel World, which had questions and problems concerning vowels.

The gameplay mainly consisted of three multiple choices for a question, where the player must move the Stripe Pointer to the answer and press B. Mario will go and hit it like a ? Block, and whether the answer be correct or wrong, another question appears.

The goal of the game is to wake up a sleeping Luigi with correct answers.
