|align=center style="background:#FFFFFF"| Mario's rival returns as a planet-sized giant - having eaten several [[Grand Star]]s in order to grow huge. Bowser floats around a planet in his first three fights. His attack methods include punching the ground to generate shockwaves, summoning [[meteorite]]s to hit Mario, and breathing fire, which can leave behind a flaming trail. When Bowser punches the ground after the meteorites lodge themselves in the ground, they turn golden and bear the Ground Pound symbol. Mario must Ground Pound these meteorites into vulnerable areas of Bowser's body to deal damage (Bowser's shell can deflect meteorites, stopping them from dealing a hit). In the second and final variation of the fight, Bowser floats in a space vortex throwing punches at Mario, while numerous meteorites drift into orbit. These meteorites act as the only ground Mario can stand on. Bowser takes four hits to be defeated in both versions of the fight.

An infantile Piranha Plant monster with an eggshell guarding its rear. It charge towards Mario and attempts to pounce on him. Spinning its eggshell will damage it, eventually revealing its vulnerable bottom. Upon being hit for the first time, Peewee Piranha becomes faster and more aggressive, and will pounce twice in a row. An overweight Lakitu which rides a lightning cloud. It can throw multiple Spiny Eggs at once and can generate electricity to shock Mario. In order to defeat King Lakitu, Mario must ride Yoshi and spit its Spinies back at it three times. A large, bipedal robot possessing a similar name and appearance to Megaleg. Digga-Leg shoots out Diggas from the top of its head and stomps around in an attempt to bludgeon Mario. The player must use the Spin Drill to shatter the glass compartment on its underside three times in order to defeat it. A gluttonous, gigantic dragon which chomps down on the surface of its planet to hit Mario. If Gobblegut misses Mario when biting down, it burrows through the core of its planet and emerges out of the other side, at which point its six pulsating bellyache bulges will get stuck in the dirt. Spinning these bulges damages Gobblegut, all six must be destroyed in order to defeat it. Upon losing three of its bulges, Gobblegut becomes enraged and starts biting down faster and more frequently.
