Portrait of Luigi's NEW Mansion with Rank B.

Luigi's NEW Mansion is a mansion that appears after defeating King Boo in Luigi's Mansion. The new mansion's look depends on how much money Luigi has earned throughout the game. If Luigi earns Rank A, the mansion becomes a large manor with the letter "L" marking its front. Each lower rank provides progressively smaller and smaller houses, culminating in a tent for Rank H.

The Nintendo 3DS remake of the game features newly designed paintings of the mansion itself and also includes a new Rank S painting.

Ranks and gold required

  • Rank S: Finish the game with 130,000,000G or more. (Message: "Congratulations! Your mansion is complete!") (Hidden Mansion in the Nintendo 3DS version only)
  • Rank A: Finish the game with 100,000,000G to 129,999,999G. (Message: "Congratulations! Your mansion is complete!")
  • Rank B: Finish the game with 70,000,000 to 99,999,999G. (Message: "Welcome to Luigi's NEW Mansion!")
  • Rank C: Finish the game with 60,000,000 to 69,999,999G. (Message: "Welcome to Luigi's NEW Mansion!")
  • Rank D: Finish the game with 50,000,000 to 59,999,999G. (Message: "Welcome to Luigi's NEW Mansion!")
  • Rank E: Finish the game with 40,000,000 to 49,999,999G. (Message: "Welcome to Luigi's NEW Mansion!")
  • Rank F: Finish the game with 20,000,000 to 39,999,999G. (Message: "Welcome to Luigi's NEW Mansion!")
  • Rank G: Finish the game with 5,000,000 to 19,999,999G. (Message: "Welcome to Luigi's NEW Mansion!")
  • Rank H: Finish the game with 5,000 to 4,999,999G. (Message: "The haunted mansion disappeared without a trace...")

In the PAL version of the Nintendo GameCube version of the game, the total amount of money required for Rank A is increased to 150,000,000G. This makes it impossible to achieve an A Rank without playing the Hidden Mansion, which contains more money in the PAL version.

  • Both the Rank A and Rank D mansions from the GameCube version have appeared in other games outside of the game; the Rank A Mansion is seen in the background of Luigi Circuit in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, while the Rank D Mansion makes an appearance in the opening of Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. It is possible the Rank D Mansion is Luigi's home in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, as they both look identical save for some wear in the outer walls and a different fence around it.
  • The lowest possible amount of money to complete the game with is 5,000G. To achieve this, no money can be kept throughout the whole game; coins can be disposed of by taking damage, but all other money must be avoided. The only unit of money that is required for collection is King Boo's Crown, which is obtained automatically after beating the final boss.
