Template:Levelbox World 1-6 is the seventh overall level of World 1 in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. It is a grassland world composed of rolling green hills moving faster than those encountered previously. It is unlocked by completing World 1-4. This level is not required to progress in the game - completing either World 1-5 or World 1-6 will unlock World 1-Castle. The Ground Theme plays throughout this level (except when underground).

Layout

The level starts with three rolling hills with Koopa Troopas and Paratroopas on them, followed by a larger platform. The center Brick Block on this platform contains a Beanstalk, which takes the player to a bonus area containing a Roulette Block. The next section has a pair of floating platforms guarded by Paratroopas and a Piranha Plant in a pipe below. This is followed by another rolling hill with a pair of pipes containing Piranha Plants and a larger platform on which the Midway Flag sits.

There is a hidden Warp Pipe located below and to the left of the Midway Flag. To access the pipe, the player must drop onto the next rolling hill and back-track with a jump into the hidden area. The Warp Pipe sends the player to an underground area with a very fast rolling rock hill. Beside the entrance pipe are two more pipes that spawn Goombas onto the platform. The exit pipe is located to the left of the entrance pipe.

Back on the surface, the next rolling hill also has a Goomba-spawning pipe above it. Beyond the pipe is a Brick Block that yields a P-Switch when hit. The P-Switch exposes small blue coins. At the lower end of this same rolling hill there is another Brick Block. This block has a 1-Up Mushroom inside. After the next platform with a Koopa Troopa, Mario must jump over three larger rolling hills to reach the Flagpole.

Star Coins

  • Star Coin 1 (pictured): The first Star Coin is floating high over the third rolling hill. To get it, Mario and co. must jump off of one of the nearby Koopa Troopas and Paratroopas or use a Propeller Mushroom.
  • Star Coin 2: The second Star Coin is floating over a small platform in midair next to four Paratroopas. It can be easily jumped to.
  • Star Coin 3: Directly below the Checkpoint Flag is a hidden area with a green Warp Pipe. This pipe leads to an underground area with a huge rolling hill and two green Pipes from which Goombas emerge. Mario and co. must use these Goombas to jump up to the platform on the right to access the Star Coin.
